I chose the 896HD for 8 inputs and 10 outputs, ADAT inputs and outputs
I used in the home studio to record mainly rock band (drums, guitar, vocals, synth etc.), I mostly use the preamp Motu which are, in my opinion, very good they may be lacking a bit of headroom but very acceptebla

It is connected to PC firewire windows 7 64.
Asus M5A88-Vevo
AMD FX-6100 3.30ghz 6 cores
16gb ram
Radeon HD 6770
3TB hard drives

UTILIZATION

For my part, unlike many, I found the driver very stable with my config. I never had any problems stall or cracking noise or bizare as music. I just unplug it, turn it off and never problems
the setting still and always already deal with the PC. That said, I do not have the Texas Instrument chipset on my card Pci Firewire.

I use Cubase 5 for complete mix, I just record 8 tracks simultaneously without any problem. I just listen to a song and mix complete (about 30 to 40 tracks) without even touching the buffer before the end and with a lot of plug ins waves.

Latency is very low and inaudible

The problem with this is that the Motu drivers are almost never updated but for my part that I work very well anyway so even if a new drive Motu go out I do not instalerais fear of have problems

GETTING STARTED

The installation ...
I pulled the hair on the head hhhaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggg
but after the first installation over the same problems I reinstall after formatting and no problem the first time wow

The general config is very simple in cubase 5 when conait based

No incompatibility has played this but I must say that c, and the same pc and the same cubase

I downloaded the manual and it is very comprehensive

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two and a half years

I tried the presonus usb audiobox which is very good but only 2 inputs and 2 outputs
The result in line 6 TonePort UX8 I used a lot and that I loved but I still I do is more, since I have the UX8 896HD is the past

What I like most is the quality of the converters, the robustness of the machine and connections DiverCité
I love the moin is the lack of MIDI but I have a midi express 128 going for me so ca
