The possibilities are enormous. Routing does not alter its effects.
I use it to control the channels of my amp head, and the effects and also Tc G Force in the afternoon to delay, pitch etc ...
It's a great product that does not really equivalent.
The price of the Swiss Army knife is between 350 & € 400. Not to be confused with the G System Lab at € 269 which does not have half the features of the GSC-2.
I would do the same choice.
