The Steinberg Warp VST is a guitar amp modeling plug in that can be run on a Mac or a PC operating system. It is very affordable and there is no need for a manual because it is simple and easy to operate. I have been using it for about 3 years now and though I do not use it a lot; I still find uses for it depending on which track I am working with. There are three types of distortion sounds and they are british, classic combo and vintage. These sounds are very unique to me because I have a lot of other guitar amp modeling plug ins and they don’t sound like those ones at all.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

This plug in runs great on my Macbook Pro, I am able to get about 4 instances of it before it starts to really chew up my CPU. I mainly use it with Logic and it runs smoothly, I have even run it in GarageBand but it didn’t seem to run as smoothly in that program as I would have liked it too. On my Windows desktop running Vista it ran great in Cubase and has never had any issues or crashes.

OVERALL OPINION

The overall quality of this plug in is very good and with it being as affordable as it is; it is perfect for someone who may want to purchase their first guitar amp plug in if they cannot afford to go out and get Guitar Rig or one of the other high end guitar plug ins that are very good. This does not come with a lot of sounds but the ones that it has are pretty good. If you can afford to spend me I do recommend looking at Guitar Rig, Waves GTR and maybe even Amplitube depending on how much money you have to spend on it.

Installation nickel without problem, it works like a conventional three-channel amplifier with three possible speakers, but different.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for over 2 months and what I like most is the ergonomics of the plug, clean sound, the fact that three different speakers are available (2x12 bold, modern 4x12, 4x12vintage) but the crunch, though it is not at all aml, trs is really dull, I have bass and treble 10 and 0 is still deaf.
The sound is distortion that sends trash everywhere, not specially beautiful but it sends the steak, unlike AmpliTube o disto plutt are nice but not trsmchante ...
A plug funny but I will not mix in a crunch, or the distortion unless you want something really bold ...

Trouble free installation without any imcompatibilits.
Configuration simpliscime and I never open the maneul!

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I work on Cubase 2.2 I possesses an athlon 2800 + with an MSI motherboard k7 pro with 1 GB of memory. For the sound card is a Terratec EWX 24/96. You still need a good setup to run the plug without clicking and other noises. My config is very stable.

OVERALL OPINION

I utlise for about a year and I am delighted because the sound is very close to my triamp Hughes & Kettner. Also no need for complicated rglages million. You sound ofSuite but I must admit that the Hughes & Kettner can be a bit aggressive, but only when you have the mixer is a treat because it has a lot of dynamics and prsence.

- P4P800 P4 2.3GHz 1gig of Ram HDD external sound card RME Multiface
- Runs very well in 96 kHz, we can put in 4 or 5 in a project after it cracks.
- The sound is compelling, especially with distortion (metal)
- Stable configuration, through a preamp and a good lamp, it does.

OVERALL OPINION

- I use it for 1 year
- I love the distortion for metal, and 3 types of sounds good remote (british, vintage and classic combo)
- Yes many others, I have chosen: Waves GTR tool, Amplitube, Warp and GreenMachine Amp
- Good quality / price ratio.
- Yes I remake this choice, but it is legitimate to hesitate between a modeled amp and a good pedal like metal zone ...

Trouble-free installation, configuration and manual nonexistent useless ... is a 3 channel amp with gain / volume + 3-band EQ

It works fine on my setup, it is not too greedy ... it starts to row when I open the plug on a little more than a dozen different tracks.

OVERALL OPINION

Been used for a year or so.
This is a great plug, with a very realistic guitar amp. There are easily a sound. However it is not very versatile. It is difficult to get out of a certain type of sound without changing the channel, but having said that if the appropriate type of sound, it's his job.
