RetroBand is not a new plug-in, in fact it was released back in 2006, but only the Lite version was free. The plug-in is designed to add a vintage touch to your compositions. It models the interaction between gain stages and transformers of various devices, specially the ones using Class A/B circuits, in order to generate various IMD and crossover distortions (3 models available with noise modulation) and the developer included transient shaping tools inside the distortion section.
You’ll also find in RetroBand various types of noise to increase the retro effect in your projects and you can control the stereo image via a Mid/Side feature.
RetroBand is VST-only (no AU) for Mac OS X and Windows. You can download it for free from www.michaelkingston.fi/retroband/. Note that the Lite is still available.
Have a great weekend!
