Wave Arts’ Tube Saturator 2 retains the original analog tube preamp circuit simulation with a 3-band Baxandall-type EQ from v1, but Wave Arts optimized the result in a more accurate, CPU-friendly and about 7 times faster processor.
The developers also added new features: you can now choose between 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes for different harmonic characteristics ; the EQ can be placed pre- or post-saturation, a 2X oversampling mode was added and you can disable the saturation and EQ separately. A new dry/wet mix control is also available in the brand new GUI.
The Tube Saturator 2 can operate in mono or stereo and supports sample rates up to 192 kHz.
The VST, AU and AAC plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows has a price of $99, v1 owners can purchase an upgrade for half this price. Note that a Pace iLok account is required. Last, you can download a trial version from wavearts.com.
