«  But sounds good machine handling important »

Use of internal microphone (omni or directional)
--------------------------------------
If we put the camera on a table very stable and that no one touches the table, then no problem. If however you want to put the focus of a conference table and people that surround it are a bit hectic, it's a little catamaran. Using "live" camera in hand demand extreme care to avoid friction sounds. I had read through other user reviews, but I do not think it was at this point. In short, use of internal microphones OK when mounted on a floor or surface "quiet". Apart from this unpleasant, it was a quality rather correct, I think that with better mics of the Zoom H2 I own too.

Use with external microphone
--------------------------------------
I use this CD-100 microphones with internal moods and externally with AT8010 for interviews. The couple DR-100 + AT8010 works very well and I am very happy. Well these are just interviews, no voice dubbing or OFF for comment, but I like when it's clean. And this is the case (recording in 48 kHz / 24 bit). I said that I use with the AT8010 phantom power and not battery 1.5 V because the resulting sound is better with phantom power. But forcing the autonomy of the DR-100 is reduced. That said, with internal rechargeable battery supplied with the unit and the two Ni-Mh supplement (auto switching from one to another when the current one reaches the end of discharge), it's good enough for me. Anyway, it was always a pair of backup batteries in the pocket, is not it? Hmm ... You just think to specify the correct type of power supply source in menus, otherwise the power supply level indicator is no longer useless!

Limiter function
--------------------------------------
It's alright, it's not mean and does its job ;-) I appreciate the fact that you can turn on independently function AGC (automatic gain control) or the limiter (I use the latter). Before purchasing I had a doubt about the possibility of separating the two functions (in fact we choose one or the other menus and it toggles through the rear cross - very convenient).

Ergonomics
--------------------------------------
The menu navigation is intuitive ... As we do not seek to validate a parameter that has to change! The philosophy of access / modify / backup is curious and inconsistent. I said that I voluntarily took the camera in hand without reading the user manual. I walked out without looking at the manual, but much effort it is better not to have to do in the heat of the moment ... Maybe a software update is she, I am not yet gone to see.
Regarding the exploitation of the recorded files no problem, I leave the records in the destination folder by default, and "text" mode (word) with auto incrementing number suffix taken.
Regarding adjusting the input sensitivity is easily accessible ... if we want to solve the same way the two recording channels. If not for two separate microphones that take two distinct individuals is a little mess, we must remember the dial to turn the outer dial domestic (both are in the same axis). For my case it does not bother me, I use one external microphone at a time.

Repeat this choice?
--------------------------------------
Yes.
