How do you guys calculate the right power amp for a speaker setup?

've been experimenting with a free power amplifier calculator and I'm curious what experienced users think about the way it approaches amp selection.

The calculator takes into account:

Speaker RMS power
Speaker impedance (4Ω/8Ω, etc.)
Number of speakers
Amplifier headroom
Recommended amplifier power range

The idea is to make it easier to go from the speaker specs to a sensible amplifier range, rather than simply choosing an amp based on the biggest wattage number.
