Great speakers until they failed.
Published on 11/29/14 at 09:09They have nice sound after adjustment of onboard equalizer and mixer. Nice speaker for the price. Have had eons for 18 years following the progression. Both speakers failed at the same time during a performance. According to a Maryland based JBL authorized repair facility the problem was identified as 4 shorted output fets in both speakers. Was told they were factory defective parts. Thankfully they were covered under warranty. I'm now hesitant to use these speakers as my primary PA's. I would not suggest these as anyone's main speakers unless they carry back up equipment like I do. Also the 2 factory authorized service centers (one in Pa. and one in Md.) A Rolls, lightweight, spl, superb sound!
Published on 11/17/14 at 04:00I've been using them since May 2004. I also tested the RCF art 712 MKII and 715. The JBL sound is finer, less analytical... I also have a couple of RCF 710 ART MKII since October 2014.
I love their look, lightness, three handles to place them on stands... and, especially, their sound!
And the mini-mixer on the rear with two 1/4" jack inputs + 1 XLR input, with 3 knobs. It's simply perfect at the end of the evening with an MP3 player while you unmount!
These speakers go down pretty low (38 hz), lower than the RCF, which start at 50hz... And at this level, every hz counts. Personally, I work without subwoofer and it's quite all right for up to 100-150 persons in the venue.

Unbeatable value for money today (17 November, 2014), the last ones available sell for about €489 a piece, when 2 years ago they went for almost €800 a piece...
I have tested the new 615 ... They provide less SPL (127 instead of 132), have a more rigid look and a useless bluetooth app... for €589, you'd better go for the last 515 xt eon. For €489 they are an awesome deal!
The cons: Rated at 625 W RMS and 900 W peak, but I think they yield only 450 to 500 w RMS, which is nevertheless more than enough. Be wary of the rated W, for example, on the RCF 710 MKII there's a sticker that states "650 w maximum power consumption" for a speaker rated at 700 W RMS and 1400 W peak... I think the RCF 710 art MKII actually yield 550/600 W and not the 700 W RMS published. I think that if they have a power consumption of 650 W max, they can't deliver more... Unless they can multiply the watts, like in the Bible. What's important is the SPL and JBL (515 xt) states and delivers 132 db, RCF states and also delivers 129 db (710 mk II))!!!
I'm not trying to offend anybody, but when low-end speaker manufacturers state 20-20000 hz (without stating at what level), fantastic 500W, 700W or even more output power, and all that for less than €250 per speaker, you ought to take a closer look into it... If I'm skeptical when RCF says its speakers consume 650 w max and deliver 700 W RMS, imagine with unknown brands!See less00 - dj manx
JBL's EON are better and better every time
Published on 03/17/14 at 04:56I've used EON since the 15G2 came out, more than 8 years ago-.
Every model brings improvements with it, be it in terms of sound, power, handling, looks...
I can't think of anything better in this range of powered speakers, this model is the best IMO.
Good value for money.00 - Dj elie
They deliver

great for gigging
Published on 06/28/12 at 21:02A friend of mine uses the JBL EON 515 XT to gig with. He is pretty much a solo artist that plays the guitar and sings. He has been doing this for awhile and has been through a good amount of speakers some good and some bad. One of the biggest issue’s to deal with in a situation like this is not having the man power behind you so you have to have your own equipment to take around with you. So the issue arises that you need to be able to carry whatever equipment you bring and is that equipment going to be good enough to handle the club that you will be in. This is a difficult wall to climb with the natural sounds of the clubs these days.

The JBL EON 515 XT can be extremely easy to lug around with you and it can take some punishment. You don’t have to worry about getting it in and out of venues without banging it around. It can handle almost anything I have seen this thing dropped so many times its crazy and it never cause a problem and at most just caused a few scratches.
The BJL EON 515 XT is good and loud enough to handle crowd noise which can bring a big problem when It comes to getting the right speakers to gig with. None of us can afford to purchase a really expensive monitor and if you want to perform in some clubs they require you to have your own speaker system. The EON 515 XT is perfect for this situation and it is affordable. You just can go wrong with having these in your set up. They are also very easy to get in and out of your car. it’s a no brainer, the JBL EON515 XT’s are great.

Great performance and incredible sound
Published on 06/10/12 at 18:58I'm a deejay and have been doing parties in Quebec for several years and I bought a couple of JBL515xt with 625 watts per box. They have an exceptional quality and an incredible power. They are perfect for a venue with 100 persons without a sub, I was able to use them at full power and when I touched the back of the amps, they didn't get hot at all. Equipped with the famous crown amps, they are solid, you get really round lows when you drive them to the max with Pitbull. A good choice, I recommend them, plus they only weigh some pounds.00 - jidel
Very good speaker
Published on 05/11/12 at 00:42 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I use it for only 2 months.
I love her and I was looking for a JBL speaker series lighter than wood.
She is strong enough to use that I actually - little party / mobile DJs.
For now I have not found him defect.
It is true that for 1600 € per pair, I had bcp bcp brand of choice.
Already said above, I'm used to the sound jbl so I chose the eon without hesitation.
It was worth the money.
I would do without this choice problem.00 - kilderkid

Genial
Published on 09/19/11 at 01:29 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I use it for 6 months and I do not regret my purchase.
In these prices there are so many products on the market, there's lots of FCR, but it is really listening on JBL that I hooked.
Use: small benefit (100 to 200 people), concerts.
Pregnant very light (15kg), enough power: 625W max RMS/132db pressure, Equaliser (not a selector like the old series that the vendor was pushing me to buy!).
Pretty good value for money, even if on a budget a bit higher you can go higher in the series JBL PRX Series ...
This choice I would do without hesitation.10
