OVERALL OPINION

Bossé with 3 or 4 years mpc 2000XL, I was very apprehensive to buy a 1000, fear of something too cheap, less professional, etc..
After a few minutes spent on it I became aware of the progress in relation to the 2000XL, many small details have changed, such as being able to make the polyphony with a single sample (in 16 level) which was impossible before (even if the poly mode did exist). The addition brings a lot of filters makes it possible to go much further in the work samples, practical to mitigate the cracks when sample on vinyl. The effects are significant even though they are far from a pro-level course. The USB port is terrible, it allows me to work on a sample SoundForge and live rock in the mpc. The separate outputs can work really quickly, and record multi-track (I did not have the card on the 2000XL).
Otherwise the weight and small size m'allègent really a burden, as I move around a lot, lugging a 2000XL (about 7 kilos) plus a big bag of saps on the back it's still a hassle).
Finally above all things the most significant is the loading time is divided by 100 or 1000 (sometimes I waited 3 to 4 minutes to load a large project from my zip).
Now in just the negatives. Akai, while offering a quality product literally does not care about our face. Such as by removing the elements that seemed essential to any beatmaker, without reason, if not money (the time stretch, to divide a sample into 16 shares, to convert to mono, and other things yet). Also new are the legions of the 1000, and I think we could Aker offer a product more successful (if not eaten by a radical capitalist ideology).
In conclusion I would say though that the mpc 1000 is one of the best machines (a qualitative point of view and practice) I've ever owned, and work on it is a real treat (especially since I changed again by the bone base).
