I put 8 because "only" 128MB Internal and USB is only for the exchange with a computer. (10 in my opinion is reserved for more advanced machines)

UTILIZATION

I did not know too the operation of the MPC and I was nervous as editing and menu navigation is fatidieuse (bad experience with a manual in English 2000), but in fact keunini!

I recognize that without the manual I will be kept con front of the machine, but after 1 or 2 hours a bone up and I was already a test piece!

menu is accessed by pressing a key and a pad and another button to return to the basic ultra simple.on to walk through each menu with the scroll wheel and sliders.

the manual is very well done and clear, can be the order of the chapters could be more pertinant aurra (?), but hey it is doing really well. by around 100 against the pages (type ream) held by two clips ... it should not live long in this great state ...

mute the track is great for live or work on a single sample (a condition that by putting a track / track)

the assignment of effects, outputs, pan filters is easy ... (more bleubox can be used to make the prog on pc; nikel)

I really take pleasure in playing with this little, because you can really play with more than programer, it's great.

transfer data between PC / mpc is fast. (if that means anything ...)

on the other hand for melodic track is better to have a midi keyboard and a sound module or synth because otherwise we galley. for the rest it is a treat.

SOUNDS

As described in other reviews this is a sampler, it depends on the user, what you put veut.les factory sounds are a very good rotten, sometimes strange or interested, but it depends on the style and above all tastes.

then the effects there, deception ... they are really not up to what I expected ... except the eq and comp was parfoit the impression of not having the effect assigned correctly, but if damage .... (to me it is not so bad because everything is a reworking of tables + effect modules.)

filters are well and good to allow variations (recorded in the sequencer, has warned however not be too greedy, 100,000 events all inclusive, no more)

otherwise the "grain mpc" is there.

I put a 7 because of the effects.

OVERALL OPINION

I do not use it for a long time but very quickly the beast mastery, provided they are methodical and utiliuser the manual (at least initially)

the pad and mute function trak, genial. the "Original Option" too.
The downside: the effects.

I read a lot (forum, manual ,...) on a lot of machines (thank you AF), post a few forums (thank you AF bis), and I confess that if I were rich my choice will be more focused on the Roland MV8000, because it raproche lot of those apps.

I buy the mpc 1000 to replace my apps and I'm really happy (although I always use Sound Forge for the reverse, time stretch). 1000 euros and all options (except 128MB) is there's no complaining (even at 100 euros y'en aurra always say it's too expensive ... lol)

I have not too much experience of this machine, but I think I do it again this healthy choice hesitation (except with twice the budget, see above)

is short of the ball (and personal).
