Small-diaphragm condenser microphone with cardioid.
Modern electronic circuit and perfectly mastered and therefore a terribly low level of noise.
It is a standard, a microphone all do, small and lightweight. It can be used likely to capture almost everything and anything. I use it mainly for ORTF stereo jacks choirs, string ensembles.
Taken apart for the little bump in the acute welcome. Attention, making close, even this little bump turn to aggression, we must care placement.
OVERALL OPINION
I also have a pair of Oktava mk012. Undoubtedly, the electronic KM184 is well above. The pairing is very fine, very professional finish even when handled with care.
Well the price is excessive, nine around 1200 € is quite unacceptable for an amateur. Fortunately, the KM184 are not popular with the purists of the brand (they prefer the old KM84). So, we regularly found in secondhand pairs around 700 €, a value more reasonable price.
Whatever the situation, context, listening to a power we never disappointed (it's pro and universal) but it is not often blown away either. His side, so it's very clean, neutral, but it lacks the blow a bit of personality. I have more breath but more often with chills Oktava.
