« Fender Deluxe 90 »

This is the Fender Deluxe 90 with one 12' Celestion speaker. The 90 stands for 90 watts. The amp is styled after the classic Fender blackface design; a black back panel and silver grille cloth.

This was my first amp purchase as I was looking for something portable, loud and reliable.

I remember I purchased this amp at Dave Phillips Music and Sound in Phillipsburg New Jersey. It was their Fender Day and I got the amp on a good deal. Brand new I think it was around $300. Honestly this was about 10 years ago so I could be off a few bucks on the price.

The amp was easy to carry. It was a combo, so I could transport it in one trip. It had a clean and a dirty channel and a simple and effective EQ section.

Please understand, I am bashing this amplifier to educate others. I don't normally trash things on the internet, but these items need to be brought up.

1) The reverb never worked. I did not check this at the store because well I never use reverb, but it should at least work if it is going to come with the amp.

2) After the warranty went up the amp started working on and off. The volume would cut in and out. The whole time the power would stay on and would not blink. It is just quickly this amp went from a lean mean gigging machine to a paper weight.

The exterior is tough. It could take a bullet. The interior however, yikes. No working reverb and inconstant volume makes me give the quality a beyond poor rating. I have $50 practice amps that function better.

Bottom line: save yourself some money and one giant headache, do not buy this amp. It looks great on paper, but in real life does not work. The only use this amp has is an external 1x12 cab or a door stop.
