MGR/Indy Smith - Honest and UnBiased Review MGR/Indy Smith - Honest and UnBiased Review

I got this combo amp for £200 from 'Creative Music' in Milton Keynes, England.

The amp sounds amazing, i was really impressed with it, and with it's handy built in effects- (Reverb, Chorus, Delay, Flange, and Chorus/Delay). It is very loud and manages anything from practice at home, to gigs at small venues. I was also impressed with the Owners Manual that comes with it, as it tells you a lot about the amp, how it is to be used, what all the knobs and buttons do, and it also gives you suggested settings for "bright clean", "classic crunch", "lead", and "metal". The amp is not too heavy, and so is easy to transport around with you. It has twin channels, one input jack, one emulated lineout and headphones jack, effects pedal line in and out jack, and it comes with a good sturdy footswitch allowing you to switch between the channels and turn the effects on or off.
Also i must mention the FDD system (emulates a valve amp) it is superb and really saves you alot of money.

The overdrive channel has a "contour" control instead of the standard "middle" which was strange to me at first- this controls pretty much the overall tone of channel.
I am also NOT AT ALL happy with its build-quality as i will be explaining...

It's a Marshall, right? and when buying a Marshall you expect the best quality construction on the face of the earth. hmmm. OK, i've had this amplifier for 2-3 months now, and already it is perishing, i will have to take it back at some point. First of all, the sound sometimes randomly decides to stop completely! thats right, the amp just fades out. and then in again if i'm lucky. and this is after 2 months of sitting in my bedroom- under all the perfect conditions it saying in the Owners Manual that it should be. ~I AM NOT HAPPY~ But whats more, over the last few days when i switch on the amp, the fan starts buzzing in the back, it stops and starts constantly, which as you can imagine is extremely off-putting, but can usually be fixed with a slight shake. I have to admit that after reading other reviews of this amp before i bought it i had been warned about the fan being "complete fucking shite" as the reviewer put it...
So not so good marks on the construction quality section *rolls eyes*

Awesome Amplifier, I am impressed completely- APART FROM THE CRAPPY BUILD QUALITY! *looks angry-hehe*
But seriously, i'm not sure if i would reccommend it to you, as my relasionship with it hasn't exactly been the best of the best. But maybe this particular one happens to be faulty, as it is sincerely unlike marshall to produce anything of below top-quality.
