Orange Crush 30R

I have been a muscician for 9 years and I have been playing the guitar for the last year. I was looking for a reasonably priced beginners practice amp and this one caught my eye.

I bought my Crush from GAK for £119 after having looked around for some time comparing amps, prices and the like at different websites and stores. The orange amp satisfied all the needs I had at the particular time, size, wattage, two channels etc.

The Crush30R has 30 watts of pure tonal power. Compared to the similar priced amps my friends own mine blows most of theirs away. The sound quality is excelent, with the crystal clear reverb unbroken all the way up to full volume. 30 watts gives you loads of volume and drive so I usually don't practice above volume 1, although for performance it cranked up to the top. This amp was made to be played loud.

It didn't come with a foot pedal for the channel switch. The pedal is an optional extra which I think could have been added into the package at little change in price.

The construction is solid and the body is made from chip board, a strong and cheap material. I believe that the orange designed speaker is the same as the nes in their cabs. I like the orange cover and basket weave grill cloth. The amp looks atractive and is built to withstand everyday punishment and rehearsals.

I love my Crush. It has everything an affordable practice amp needs and the tone and sound quality is incredible in this price range. This is another feather in Oranges unshakeable reputation for quality.

USE

Amp possdant his personality and easy to use. it is crude, so far from being complex.
issue manual not expect a book of 900 pages.

SONORITS

The clean channel is very good. extremely flexible and slamming through the equalizer. his forte !!! reverb, spring is also pleasant.
The overdrive channel is less convincing. it should not be too excited about winning. Finally ... it's a matter of taste, but soon becomes dirty and large loss of definition (as much). That said, supported by a good pedal, it lends itself more attention to it.

NOTICE GLOBAL

Certainly the overdirve may slow more than one. but just for the clean sound and reverb is the experience to do again. especially with such a drisoire price. I also emphasized the exemplary manufacturing quality for this range. I possdais a LINE 6 sipder III before that I sold to the authenticity privilgier has versatility. I am far from regretting the amps modlisation coldness, even if it is clear that issue versatility, orange crush is far from the galer.

SOUNDS

this is something I have to give.
with the HP 10 "cheap home, this amp sounds good to do a volume" private ".
as soon as the sound goes, it does not support. And if we play the E string with double coil is a death rattle that HP is expressed ...
BUT ...
the box is large enough to mount a 12 inch! even without changing the exit hole.
I have therefore put a 12 inch jensen cheap (the series "Chicago", 75W/8ohms. And then, oh miracle, you can mount the volume, bass are collected, there's a little more air in the treble.
With this change, (cheap, I repeat, must be considered from the amp which one), this little trick is exploitable again, see them live, small place (tested and approved by the others ...)
as the bass is better managed, it is also suitable for jazz.
and as much cash effects (with 12-inch, always) you can have sounds pretty muscular, if you put in front of the offers.
do the math: a combo approx. € 170 + € 65 to 1 HP = ca. € 240 for a combo that sounds good, which is lightweight and suitable for all situations that do not require heavy artillery.
and the change is easy, you just set the new HP.
So, without amendment: 6
with Edit: 10, considering the price. (It sounds not like a twin, oh, oh ...!)

OVERALL OPINION

I had purchased as a "small m. ...", and I play it all the time!
the ideal companion for travel (the guitar in one hand, amp in the other 10 pounds, and you got the sound that you ask for?)


after, of course, there are a lot better, but at what price ... and what weight ...

with amendment, I put 10 in price / quality ratio.
