«  API style! »

Published on 07/26/12 at 04:00
I quote:
Dual mic preamp with 54dB of gain
Analog VU meter for output level display
High impedance instrument input with 54dB front façade gain
The peak indicator pad button attenuates the microphone signal by 20dB, or 10dB signal instrument
48V phantom power per channel
Circuits low distortion, low noise
Fully balanced output on XLR and 6.35mm jack

(No low cut, too bad.)

UTILIZATION

Unpacking I was not expecting such a craft. The war machine look is very successful, and the manufacturing quality is there. The inspection label API smells good and reassures the qualité.On is really not in the cheap low cost.
Large meters are being seen by far, the big buttons and solid, unbreakable connectors, diodes and so red ...
Pleasantly surprised.

SOUND QUALITY

I started testing with a Fender Precision bass instrument in the entrance.
The first surprise was the softness of her nervousness and transients.
In contrast to the look, sound is quite modern and transparent.
I often use my solo610 AU for low and well this is the opposite in terms of sound. The AU is much more bold, colorful and "spongy".

The R-20 is more nervous bcp.

OVERALL OPINION

I took a risk, not having been able to try before you buy. Virtually no return to France of this gear, and yet it's worth it.
JDK Audio is a subsidiary of API, not a label or another.

I was looking to broaden my range of sound, and have something more modern, transparent and nervous.
I look forward to testing it on drums.

2 channel API at this price it's Baball!
