See the website of RME.

Using high quality components.
Very good features.
Very good dynamic.

UTILIZATION

Weaknesses:
The manipulation of push buttons on the front is not very easy.
The limit of the gain knobs is not very precise.
The 12 volt power plug and the same as the kids toys!

Strengths:
TRS plugs handy (combined XLR and jack).
Power possible on 12 volt battery.

SOUND QUALITY

If handling is not always easy for the reasons listed above, against her by audio quality is remarkable.
With a very good transparency and a very low distortion rate, it is really suitable for recording in the field of classical music.
On the piano, the upper octaves are very defined and crystal clear, and the first octave is what should be neither too fat nor too inflated.
The voices of sopranos, no aggression in the "strong" and bass voices are perfectly chiseled and precise.
On training and orchestral choirs, no complaints, no intermodulation distortion.

OVERALL OPINION

This preamp, makes no heat, it is transparent, then it will certainly appeal not all!
For the singing variety, there is much more suitable.
For the opera and classical music, combined with the neumann and Shoeps is perfect.

If it again, I bought one because it remains a benchmark in transparency.
