Sound Skulptor MP73

I bought a kit: not a big DIY experience, but frankly in a day is mounted, calibrated! Ultra kit well done!

SOUND QUALITY

Okay well I did a little test in the studio yesterday with a U87 on a voice, and with a low Sun: ben c really good!
I compared it to an Avalon 737, an Empirical Labs Mike-E and another DIY Classic VP 26 (clone Api 312 70's)!

Clearly we are in the same court, the great! Well this is a serious and wide, but extended treble apps, a medium a little hair back, which gives the musical side, and smooth. Attention transients are very frank (low active Fender U.S. bartolini) and nickel spring slap, and the game becomes more rounded fingers in comparison with the 737 and the Mike-e!

In any case, five pairs of ears demonstrated the difference is so subtle it is, and for 340 € and qques relaxing hours welding and bin it was worth the money! Thank you Jean Pierre at Sound Skupltor for this kit ultra cool!

OVERALL OPINION

Unbeatable value for money, because they are quality components (transformers Carnhill UK) and although for the price you can get a Golden Age Project pre73 Mk2 mounted works of hell (and I advise anyone who wants a preamp in style 1073), it is "made in china", and I say this without bitterness, because then you can access the gear quality sound obvious, but this is made in France and Home Assembled!

Still, for 200 € more (if you're not hot solder!) You can buy mp573 assembled, and I assure you that this is an excellent purchase!

The assembly is long but not difficult.
- The edition of sounds and effects is easy?
It is a Pramper, there is not much subtlety: 3 floors of amplification with a switch that lets in only 1 slectionner, 2 or 3.
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
The installation manual is clear particulirement, Retailer and illustrated. There is no room for doubt, and the DIY when you are beginner, even when it's great!

SOUND QUALITY

Excellent sound quality! is the whole of this intrt Pramper: not too expensive for the DIY + home, we have a very well done Pramper which is really really good. It is very clear and specific on balanced, yet it brings color and lgre natural compression that makes her loose, silky.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it three months, what I like most is really sound. was used to get the voice out of the mix without EQ dfigurer has surprised me the first time! The coloring / compression can slow down the compression to the mix and thus regain natural keeping the impact of the voice. gives a very very good also RESULT electric guitar, but I am less expert. What I like least ... may be the fitting time, I'm not very handy and as the design is very complete (whether for the PSU, the card ID or the pr same amp he) asked a lot of hours ...
