Sonoma Wire Works developed a solution that solves the audio latency on Android-equipped smartphones and tablets.
Named LLA (Low Latency Audio), this solutions lowers latency to approximately 20 milliseconds. Typical input to output latency on Android devices is presently between 100 and 250 milliseconds, which prevents these devices to be used for real time processing of guitar amp models of effects for instance.
Sonoma Wire Works LLA solution for Android is available for license to device manufacturers, hopefully next generation devices will be equipped with LLA so that musicians can enjoy music apps like iOS users already do.
