TopicPosted on 02/06/2006 at 23:35:56Separate...recording tracks...?
Dudes...Can somone please tell me how on this god loving earth can I avoid the recording of an imported track...when I m trying to record my guitar...on a second Audio File..?
To explain...I import Audio Files in Cubase...and then I Add another Audio Track in order to record my guitar...The problem is that in my second track...after I press...''Record'' and play my guitar while the song is playing, I end up with both my Guitar AND the song in the 1st Audio File...recorded...in the 2nd Audio Track I m producing....What I want is two separate audio tracks...The first with...the Imported song/File and the second JUST with my Guitar....
I would appreciate...if someone could give me an answer....Does it have to do with any options about recording in Cubase that I ignore..?
THanks in advance....

If you have a sound blaster type card, drill down on the options menus and uncheck "what u hear".
If it's a non SB card, post how you have everything hooked up.
my friend....thanks for replying...my sound card...is a Realtek Ac97 and I plug my guitar...after ( a series of pedals ) straight in the Line in of my laptop...Do ya think it is because of that..?
The thing is that After recording...I end up with an audio track with both the song and my guitar recorded on it...obviously I just want my guitar there for proccesing the sound after I finish...
Thanks anyway...
