best preamp digital connection

Topic best preamp digital connection
Hi all,

I have a small music recording setup with a Focusrite 428 preamp (with ADAT Outs), a MOTU 2408 Mk3 connected to a G5 and a Tascam DM3200 digital mixer. I wonder where is the best place to connect the Focusrite for best audio quality, less latency and more flexible monitoring. Should it be directly connected to the MOTU's ADAT inputs for recording and then ADAT or TDIF Out from MOTU to the Tascam mixer for monitoring? Or should it be first to the mixer's ADAT input and then to MOTU for recording?
