mic placement using two mics

I'm planning on doing a live recording (4 performers) using two mics. Any suggestions on placement of 2 C-1000 ? Will be recording both vocals and instruments.

What are the instruments?

Typically, I've had success with MXL 603s placed parallel about 30cm apart recording small groups of Japanese instruments (koto, shakuhachi).
