All user reviews for the ESP Horizon - Carpenter Prototype

This guitar was made by the U.S. Custom Shop ESP. It belonged to the Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, before it can supply a person to Warner, his record company, 99 in Paris. After being sold, it has gone through two owners. I finally managed to buy it back 9 months ago. This is the guitar you see in the video for "Be Quiet And Drive," and it is a prototype of his signature model (he eventually opted for a pointed head, not round like a it). The guitar has a mahogany neck-through. The two wings of the body is alder. The configuration of micro is the same as the Carpenter (a double in acute SH-4, another SH-4 in the middle, and a single coil in the neck position. Selector is a 5 position strat type, entirely conventional.

UTILIZATION

The handle is exeptional, special mention for the ebony fingerboard and frets, very good quality and finish which is unheard of. As with all guitars of this type play in the last box is very easy. The balance of the guitar is excellent, it weighs when his weight, the matron.
For sound, it's hallucination. I understood the difference between the instruments custom made for artists, and those of trade. This has nothing to do. it sounds at once monstrously.

SOUNDS

I play metal as headphone, so it adhesive cell coat. I play with a Peavey 5150, and I tested the guitar on a Peavey Classic 30. Each time, it is the slap. The serious nature of the instrument is enormous, and the attack of a dangerous edge. The game is perfectly intelligible complex agreements in distortion. The clean sound is very nice too. The simple grave boninage stratabound produces sounds larger than life. I do not use micro center.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 9 months as lead guitar. I have no complaints, it is absolutely perfect. I know very well the Horizon, which are my favorite guitars, and I've tried a lot. This is the best of all. We really feel that she lives and that something happens, like with some vintage guitars. I paid quite expensive (1800 €) which is far from its real price (the custom shop japan today ask € 4000 to redo the same guitar). Naturally I have no regrets and I pity the fans of ESP who will never know such happiness.
