« Squier Standard Stratocaster »

I purchased the guitar at a local music store for $379.99 Canadaian (thats about four dollars American)

Firstly, the axe is very affordable. Second, the Strat sounds awesome - I paid less than a third what people pay for American-made Fender Strats and, although its not quite the same, the Squier sounds pretty fucking close for the price. It looks awesome, is built tough, and sounds clean. Also, the neck is extremely smooth fast, something very important to most guitarists.

The guitar is on the lighter side of most other axes, and if you like a heavier guitar, then that may be a problem for you. Despite its weight, though, it is perfectly balanced and feels comfortable. Other than that, I havent run into any problems

The construction is solid through-out - neck, body, frets feel solid, no buzzing or shifting noises. A quality made guitar.

For the money you can't go wrong with this guitar. I hate when people try to cpmpare it to Gibson Les Pauls or other $2000 guitars, but this axe will hold its own against any similarly priced guitar. Overall, a kick ass choice for the beginner.
