Fender decided to offer three of its Modern Player instruments in a Short Scale edition, a version intended for kids, among others.

The Short Scale edition applies to the Modern Player Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars as well as the Modern Player Jazz Bass. All these instruments feature a downsized body and reduced scale length.

Modern Player Short Scale Telecaster:

  • Alder body
  • Bolt-on maple neck with modern C shape
  • Maple fingerboard with 9.5” radius, 20 medium jumbo frets and black Dot inlays
  • Nut width: 1.650”
  • Scale length: 24”
  • Vintage-style tuners
  • Modern Player vintage style single coil Telecaster bridge pickup and Guild “Anti-Hum” neck humbucker with chrome cover
  • Master volume, master tone, 3-way blade pickup switch
  • Vintage-style Telecaster bridge with 3 brass saddles et string-thru-body
  • 3 ply Tortoiseshell pickguard
  • Fender engraved neck plate
  • Fender USA .011 - .046 strings
