    UTILIZATION

The neck is okay, but nothing more ... I find it less pleasant than my qje Cort, and the fingerboard's radius is too large for my taste. The body is too thick, cut the stomach is useless, the chamfer for the arm, however, is quite comfortable. Access to acute ED-PLO-ment: not possible to slam
a solo beyond the 17th (even with my giant palluches), the fault of that heel that is more of a cinderblock that the junction body / sleeve ...
You do not get hardly any good sounds ...

    SOUNDS

The sounds are ... Pathetic ... The distortion has no fishing is screaming (with the breath!) On the micro bridge, on the other mics you sound like a synth, it's so messy and empty ... Harmonics do not leave, even while fucking my best vibrato and the gain on the bottom (on a simulation of Correct, it's a bit a shame ...) Ultimately, the only setting I found that drinking c ' is a clean bass and embellished in the mids down, played with the bridge, we obtain almost crystalline arpeggios and not too bad (especially with a small chorus, we fall into the Sanitarium by Metallica).

    OVERALL OPINION

I borrowed for 1 week. I hate everything about this guitar, Cort strongly that my back, adorned with beautiful EMG :) I guess the q / p is correct, it is worth € 150 on eBay, but for that price you should find what meiux ...

I got this guitar with a dean markley 8 watt amp for 120 bucks from a friend. i don't know how old it is. It is my first guitar, and i was too poor to get anything else, and i wanted something with a humbucker and 2 single coils, just to see what i would like. It was a great deal, and i still consider the guitar awesome, even though i consider myself an intermediate, self taught.

the humbucker is awesome. I play anything from
celtic, to Klezmar(believe it or not), to green day, to harder stuff. The humbucker with heavy gain on the high E string, can sound like bagpipes to a violin, interstingly enough. On the other hand, the humbucker is awesome with distortion. on clean, it has a very h…

the humbucker is awesome. I play anything from
celtic, to Klezmar(believe it or not), to green day, to harder stuff. The humbucker with heavy gain on the high E string, can sound like bagpipes to a violin, interstingly enough. On the other hand, the humbucker is awesome with distortion. on clean, it has a very hard bright sound, which is a little too sharp. The single coils are good for the clean sound, and they sound very jangly on chords. Very versitile. The neck is very fast and slim. I played a very expensive PRS Tremonti at a friend's house and the neck was like a baseball bat. I prefer my guitar to his.

I do not like the single coils with distortion. they are very muddy. The strap also comes off a lot because the guitar strap pins are in bad condition (see below.) The humbucker is a little too sharp on clean.

The guitar is built very well. the only thing i don't like is the screw that holds in the strap on the bottom has come out, and i have to glue it in. The strap comes off a lot of the guitar. Fortunately, i always can grab it before it hits the floor.

It is a great first guitar! i have playered it for 9 months, and i still consider it a great guitar to play. I will upgrade when i can to a marshall 15 watt amp, as my amp is very poor, but i will continue to play my ibanez until i get enough money to get a epi les paul.

I got this guitar from Mumbai for around 250$(brand new).In Indian rupees it is approximately 11500

Great 5-way pickup selector, handsome tremelo and perfect handling make this guitar one of a kind.

The neck is to broad so sometimes its uncomfortable when you are playing near the last fret.

This guitar is super cool looking. It has two single coils and one humbucking pickup. It even sports a 5 way pickup selector.Neck and head are made of maple while the fretboard is made of rosewood.

An economical and must buy for any neo-classical/80s rock follower.Cheers!

I got my Ibanez as a gift from my folks...don't know how much it was...probably cheap because we're on a tight budget.

Just about everything. The strings are nice and low on the fretboard so I can "really light it up", if you will. Sounds nice and you get a good tone out of it.

The nut that goes around the output jack on the guitar itself was coming loose. I tightened it and nothing happened again.

    Solid. Built solid.

This was my first and only guitar, but it wasn't my first expierience with a guitar. I had tried out my friend's Fender, Gibson, Alvarez, and many others, (his dad is a guitar junkie and has LOTS of guitars) and my parents asked him about what would be a good quality axe f…

He immediately said Ibanez. The first time I picked it up, I fell in love with it. My next guitar, which I will be purchasing soon, will be the Ibanez Artcore AG75...that too is amazing.

i got this from interstatemusic.com in a starter pack with a6" 10W amp. it was a 15th b day present.

its light, cheap, great starter, humbucking pickup, and standard bridge. the bridge is nice for palm muting.

well since its a starter, dont expect much. the first year it played real nice, but over time the neck warps and buzzes pretty bad. but thats expected.

its a cheap guitar so you gonna get cheap wood and a simple neck. over time it gets poor. the finish is durable though. ive hit it a lot and the finish hasnt cracked or anything.

perfect starter guitar. if you replace the humbucker with a seymour ducan super distortion, like i did, this thing will shred!

I bought this guitar an Van Gelders Music Center for about $170. I bought this because everyone was telling me it was a starter guitar and thats what i need, plus it was cheap.

What I like about this guitar is it is good for beginers who are into heavy metal, because that is what I is used for basicly.

What I didnt like abou it is that it the pickups get shitty after a while and tend to buzz a lot. Also I started to get into different music so a heavy metal guitar wasnt exactly for me.

The quality is is not that bad if you use it right. I had a couple problems with the volume knobs and paint but thats really it.

I am in Brisbane, Australia. I bought this guitar out of the trading post because i am only beginning to play. 400AU dollars with practise amp.

What i like about this guitar are most things. Even on my tiny little practise amp, it sounds terrific. Crank her up when the parents arent home. Good fun. Because i am onyl beginning, the miminal knobs make it a lot simpler. I dont think the more knobs means the better the guitar is. It is simple and to the point. By that, i dont mean that the guitar sounds bad. The sound is great, with perfect distortion. I play to heavy songs now, and it sounds just just like them, yet on about the cheapest guitar out there.

The pickups look a little un-chunky i think, but the sound is great.

Good construction. Maybe the pickups could look a bit cooler. I have the dark blue model and its got glittery stuff in it, so that is cool too. No complaints here, shes all holding together.

For a cheap guitar, you cant go wrong with this one. Ibanez has definately proved itself to me. Great sound (trust me, ull sound like a pro in next to no time) and solidity. Simple to use, no crap. Just whip her in an amp, and bang, instant coolness (for very cheap), and that my friends, is the bottom line. Fun playing...

I got this guitar off of Ebay for 200$.

It's really decent for the price I paid. It's a great way to play for cheap.

There seem to be alot of tones that I wish I could get out of this thing, but can't seem to. Wish it had some Fender pickups or a Gibson humbucker. Otherwise the sound is ok but it has a narrow range of tones.

The construction is decent enough. Its great for what I paid.

Get this if you want to play Heavy Metal or some punk. Don't get this of you want to really play Rock n' Roll or other stuff. Switching pickups after buying this guitar is an option, but at that point why not just buy a Telecaster?

I recieved this guitar for Christmas a few years back. I believe it cost around $250 in a Ibanez starter pack and $169 alone on musicians friend.

This guitar has held up a good two years of constant dropping and other abuse. The sound is what you would isn't the best in the world, but was more than what I expected from this low-end guitar. The factory neck pickup has a real nice tone, and the bridge humbucker has a nice little crunch to it.

I have had several small problems with this guitar from the begining. First, all the factory strings broke within weeks. The high E turner is abnormally loose. The hexnut on the output jack comes loose all the time and actually cause no sound to …

If you flip this guitar over and take a look at the bolt-on neck plate, you will see "Made In China." That basically sums up the quality of this guitar, but you get what you pay for, and for the price, it isn't that bad of a deal.

Overall, this is a low-end beginner's guitar, but well worth the $169 you would pay for this guitar alone. I plan on playing my guitar until it falls to completely apart.

This is great because it is an Ibanez and great quality for cheap and the sound plays the hound out of a Fender Standard Strat and is about half the cost.

    Its all cool.

Very durable and great quality thats one of the great things about Ibanez.

This guitar kicks butt great sound, quality and looks. Great Price, not just for beginner great for any rocker.

I acquired this unit off an eBay auction for about $110. I've always considered Ibanez is a respectable brand, and the GRX-40 seemed like a good deal, and turned out to be one. I was looking for a guitar that would handle the tedious jobs of both lead and rhythm thrash based-metal, and Ibanez makes very fast necks on most of their guitars.

This guitar is a very good deal for $110. It's fast neck and bridge pickups are probably the best features on the guitar. The neck pickup sounds good for playing stuff clean, or with a little distortion, but isn't very clean when lots of distortion is added, rendering it not very useful for lead use. This guitar is a very good deal for $110. It's fast neck and bridge pickups are probably the best features on the guitar. The neck pickup sounds good for playing stuff clean, or with a little distortion, but isn't very clean when lots of distortion is added, rendering it not very useful for lead use. The neck isn't a Wizard or Wizard-2 or anything (it's listed simply as a GRX neck), but I frequently have people ask me if it really is a Wizard when they first play it, and it is very good for leads. The body is alder, and the guitar is very light. The tremelo works pretty decently for a $110 guitar. If you've got really old strings on it, you usually have to dive a ton and then tune it, or else the 3 high strings will gradually lose tension and have to be retuned, and if you don't do this, diving later will really throw them off. The 22-fret fretboard has medium-size frets, and are very tap and bend friendly.

The neck and middle pickups aren't very clean when you add distortion. The middle pickup just has an ugly tone, and isn't very useful at all. The neck pickup does have a decent tone, but isn't clean and the tones bleed over really bad when you start hammering and pulling 16ths. The alder body is light and does deliver a good tone for lead or rhythm, but is not durable at all, and cracks relatively easily. If this guitar was dropped from a standing position, it would probably do serious damage to the body. And while the neck itself is very good, it's not set in very good and can make venturing around the top frets akward. The tremelo also does take a lot of adjusting with good strings before it holds tune real well. But after you do get it adjusted, it works respectably.

The body is is made of alder, which does provide pretty good sound, but does crack easily. This isn't a studio guitar, and unless you've set up the tremelo and are used to the guitar, it's not quite reliable enough for live stuff. Once you're used to the guitar and have set it up well, it will hold it's ground fairly well against the much more expensive ESP and Jackson models that are so common in thrash metal.

This is not a guitar for someone trying to add a good lead or rhythm to an arsenal of ESP's or Jackson's or Les Paul's, but is an excellent guitar for a beginner or someone who doesn't play electric a ton and wants one for playing sometimes and wants to save cash. This also is a very affordable guitar for someone wanting to hotrod a guitar, but isn't big on having a super-nice looking guitar. Like myself. This can be a very good guitar with nicer mid & bridge pickups, a re-set job on the neck, and nicer tremelo system. All in all, in just about any situation, this guitar brings some pretty good bang for it's buck.

    The Ibanez GRX40 is impressive.
For the money, it is a solidly built, good looking, sounding guitar.
I like the feel it has, the neck is fast.
I also like the fact that Ibanez actually makes it, instead of outsourcing the construction to another company, like some beginner guitar models are.
Also, it played good right out of the box, so to speak
    No additional setup was needed

I wish it came in more colors.

The construction is good, I know people who own them 3-4 yrs old without ever having a problem.

The construction is good, I know people who own them 3-4 yrs old without ever having a problem.

For under $200, one of the best guitars out there/

: I got my 1999 Ibanez GIP GRX-40 at Cambells music store in york. It is a cheap guitar so i olny paid 120 for it.

It may not be the best guitar but you can get a cool heavy metal sound out of it.

Like i said it is a cheaper unit and isnt good for anything butheavy metal.

it is olny a year old but has one or to chips in the paint. and some of the screws on it keep comming lose on it.

the guitar i have now isnt that great. some of my classmats that have nice guitars even make fun of me. I went to a store to buy a kramer but at that time couldent aford it. I would really love this giutar and it would be nice to play something besides metal and have it sound nice.

I do not know the precise characteristics.
    The neck has 22 frets
1 humbucker and 2 single pickups ibanez
    vibrato
    1 volume 1 tone
    Slcteur 5 positions
    Pretty good handle

    UTILIZATION

The handle is quite enjoyable, not much to complain about on this side of, if not a lightweight growth below the ex mcaniques.
    Access to ISSA is acute.
The shape is classic Start, but more aggressive which makes it rather well.

My first opinion, I start ...

    - Manufactures a priori in indonsie without certainty ...
    - 22 frets, 2 pickups single (Powersound-S) (sleeve and intermdiaire), 1 humbucker (Powersound-H) (bridge)
    - Vintage Stratocaster vibrato type (I think)
    - Adjustable volume, tone, 5 position slecteur
    - Handle stocky, one pice, U-shape
    - Rosewood fingerboard, classic inlay dots, probably plastic ...
    - Agathis body

    UTILIZATION

Premire is my guitar, a little "point of references" to those I have tried later. I am not a great specialist in the guitar, so you must be content with my clumsy explanation.

    UTILIZATION

Premire is my guitar, a little "point of references" to those I have tried later. I am not a great specialist in the guitar, so you must be content with my clumsy explanation.

The handle is one of the highlights of the guitar (for this price range), I find trs enjoyable, especially for beginners because it is relatively thin and flat enough to allow an easy game. I possde four months since.

Access in acute is relatively easy.

The guitar is well balance and is quite lgre. The shape is classic.

I found the bridge rglage ennervant enough. It dssacorde guitar tremolo all the shots, so I ended up "tighten" the springs in order to block the bridge and remove the bar (I do not use in DEFINITIONS). The action of the strings, although correct, is improved, the possitive the lowest I could get too high as my taste, but nothing catastrophic. The rglage (perfect) harmonics is impossible, but if you're not a perfectionist, it will easily accommodates.

    SOUNDS

For sound, rglage are very simple: a volume knob, one for the tonal and the pickup selector.

I play on a small 15 watt marshall amp, requires apartment. I had the opportunity to try it on a Roland Cube 20X, but I love this amp too, I think it makes a more "cold".

The humbucker is quite nice, especially with distortion. Nice for punk, mtal, rock, ...

The micro intermdiaire makes a more "bluesy", rather good but lacks a bit of potato.

I never tried the neck pickup.

In gnral, the sound is pretty good. It must s'amliorer sharply with a better quality amp.

    OVERALL OPINION

Premire is my guitar, I bought it on occasion with the 150 amp and distortion pedals.
For guitar and Premire in this price range, I do not think we can do much better.
The handle is particulirement good, what a good thing to learn. The sound is pretty decent, the configuration S / S / H is nice because of the versatility offered. The only point of iow the guitar is, I think the bridge.

Good guitar for beginners, but we must admit that I am tired pretty quickly.

    I put 8 / 10 for the report qualitprix.

    Made-in china in my case

    See below for other specifications.

    UTILIZATION

It's an Ibanez, so it has a rather thin neck, not to be as worthy of an RG. Moreover, the handle is probably one of the greatest qualities of this guitar, ideal for beginners, although fine and just wide enough. The frets are not too big and not unduly n'acrochent, allowing a comfortable playing. Access to acute rather well, even if a large bead at the junction sleeve body makes the game less comfortable in the last frets.

Another, vibrato (which is not a floyd for that matter) is totally unusable. A quick and presto, you are granted a quarter tone above, it is pure torture for the ears. Your best bet …

Your best bet is to store the bar and give up its delusions of screaming bomb. Or even totally block the bridge, it is beneficial

    SOUNDS

There, it thickens. Frankly, this guitar has no sound and his personality is of course extreme, but hey I am very severe, the price is quite normal, nor is the quality of a Les Paul, or its price (or an Ibanez SV is). The microphone is most interesting is probably the humbucker, which is slightly less flat than the others. But we must say that I only use very rarely singles coils, as the buzz they generate is unbearable (that due to poor shielding fillage and a guitar of this price ca not worth the trouble do it again, or do it yourself (;). As soon as I push a little tone, it still buzzes. So in the end, I have come to use only one setting and to play the sound only from my amp, a big Marshall still waiting for a good guitar sound to match his talent. So, in searching, you come to find something usable. And for the vibrato, both drop immediately.

    OVERALL OPINION

It's really a great beginner guitar or very low price. Its two big advantages: it is not expensive and it's still a guitar. Otherwise, welcome the agreeableness of the handle, very good quality for the price, it's really his biggest quality.

Otherwise the quality of wood I put a 2 / 10. This is a guitar that can go very quickly into pieces even if one takes care of:
    - The metal ring in one of two wedge-rope on his head was too little, suddenly the rope vibrated, problem solved by adding a small washer for caller.
    - People, by dint of pulling the plug is pulled the jack on the guitar, the wood was completely eaten problem half solved with wood glue
    - The worst problem (appeared after a year and a half), the guitar is fast désacorde alone; My technique for the grant now is to make a bend on each string and recheck it does désacordée not, and that as the tuning is not good but I have a nasty surprise in the middle game a rope désacorde hugely (it must come from the mechanical).
    - Last, the microphones: they suck, they suck ... With the distortion, there will always be an old nasty breath, but ... for a beginner is not so annoying in fact <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_confused.gif" alt="" />

The guitar still in mouth, a strat-style painted well, and a pointed head! (The clothes do not make the man ...)

    UTILIZATION

The neck is fairly easy to ride for a beginner, even now I do not much reproaches him, it&#39;s just that I prefer the handle slightly round of Squier Affinity at the melody and solos.
! Warning! It&#39;s a guitar factory quickly packed, two months after buying it I realized (through a friend) that the shaft was slightly bent, and a luthier fixed it quickly made me well. Take advantage also to settle your easel by a luthier, it will avoid the strings that vibrate
Level shape, weight, it is correct. Access to the treble is fairly straightforward, cons sound (the last fret) is rotten, there&#39;s no other word (if there &#39;s finally moldy, terrible, ... it makes sense), but the beginner does not descend to treble anyway, and having tested other basic guitar squier affinity as I can tell you it&#39;s the same thing.

As for vibrato, it can quickly be interesting, but when one perceives with two Tremolo guitar is already désacordées, it is used more.

    SOUNDS

That guitar is versatile in styles, in the sense that no one&#39;s best in style than in another. Let&#39;s say at the beginning when we start scratching it is made into agreements clean (clean on the humbucker is correct), or power chord with distortion ... But when we progress, we want to both play notes and chords, and even solo with the same settings, you will find the right gallery, is the setting Petera ears on the agreements but the notes will be beautiful or agreements shall be flat or ... And I said not even the massacre when there is too much distortion!
The first problem is the microphones: they are rotten, with an old wind in the background, but hey if we wanted to put the money to change it easily arrive at the price of the guitar (150 €) With distortion of breath &#39;s really meant a lot, he is also emphasized on the other end as the flange, or phaser.
Second problem: From the 15th box, the notes sound more real. You can put Clapton on the guitar and say &#39;go solo tone is between the 12th and 22th, "and there you will understand that the guitar really sound m * rde when you hear (it played well but less well to listen), I exaggerate, but having played on a guitar to 300 € for 20 minutes made me realize that my guitar slowed my progress. (I&#39;m not even talking about the joy I had on the telecaster to 800 €).

I try not to say that the guitar has no sound, but after a year of playing you will start to say "Phew what a rotten," and then after two years you start to get tired . But good 200 € the amp (which I quickly changed) + guitar + accessories, so that it lasts 3 years, it remains correct.

    OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion, it is a very good guitar for a beginner, but I think that before buying you should try ... the problem is that you ca not try if we ever made guitar, but you can ask a friend to help us choose, playing tricks in store for beginners. This guitar is really contrast with the Squier Affinity, see Yahama.
Buy this guitar is a good choice, I had my little way above, until I reached its limits (soon I&#39;m gonna break soon ^ ^).
    We&#39;ll say it&#39;s good value for money. <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="wink" />
In fact I am told, the beginner will not buy a guitar to 500 €, but it could put 300 € instead of 200 €, but in the end he will want to change it to 300 € in a few years. It may be quite this option, you put € 200 and it has everything, then when we reached a level that would merit a good guitar you pass the course!

The most positive of the guitar: A handle with good grip, access to all frets
    The downside: The sound ... <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt="sad" />
