I made the acquisition of this guitar in my "PERIOD shred" and I needed a guitar to practice technique and VLOC. I'm really happy with the t trs race and was able to train under the best conditions.

    SOUNDS

Its level, the picture is a little DGRAD. The pickups have a lot of gain, not blame the top. But their precision leaves DSIR. The sound is not as prcis Dfine and in low frequencies that could be the esprer and they lack bite ...

In clean, it's cold and me. It may suit the more frenzied the SRV blues or funky compresses casseroles. But this is clearly not his area of prdilection.

I had to use this guitar, I do pose any problem. I never hooked to the sound of the S470 and I have almost never used as a group because I prfre more kinds of vintage guitars and warm. I used it primarily to train alone.

That said, with a change of pickups, this guitar has a potential exploit.

    OVERALL OPINION

A guitar that lacks versatility, but with this configuration (humbuckers, the vibrato Floyd, ...) you know it's a guitar technique and intends to big sound.
It is a good guitar in this style but a change of pickups needed to exploit the potential of the instrument.

Specially mention the terrible look of FOF finish with orange yellow reflections. Moir its fittings and the most beautiful effect his easel and imposing design are also good reasons to choose this guitar plutt another.

I sold this guitar because it n'tait versatile enough but I got my srement to make a happy apprcie that its fair value.

This guitar is built for fast games mainly metal but it is very versatile. Plugged into a good all-tube amp (Peavey 6505 style, Laney or Mesa Boogie) send it!

    SOUNDS

I play mostly instrumental rock and metal is perfect.
Plugged into a Marshall tube amp it sounds really hell. To inflate the disto I took a DOD YJM Overdrive 308 but I use it very rarely.
I play as much as its clean with distortion. I can both have a very specific and pushing the amp have a very fat (personally I do not like too much).

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year now. I saw that Herman Li Dragonforce played with the group and for that I am a fan I jumped at the chance. I'm really on it. I played on current production models Sabre Korea and there is a very clear difference.
New it cost 1200 euros at the time I bought used 650 euros. I have not hesitated again the same choice.

The Ibanez S bodyshape was always the less popular alternative to the RG. This shape has a totally different feel compared to most guitars. These guitars put comfort ahead of everything else in their design. On this guitar you get the super thin S style body made of basswood. The bolt on neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard is 22 frets and has a super flat radius. The neck is one of Ibanez's famous wizard necks so it is super thin as well. The guitar has an HSH pickup configuration with Ibanez pickups all around. Up top there is a locking nut for the fully floating ZR bridge. The guitar has an HSH pickup configuration with Ibanez pickups all around. Up top there is a locking nut for the fully floating ZR bridge. The ZR bridge is an evolution of Ibanezes floating bridges and it is really nice. The controls are typical with a master volume and master tone with a 5 way blade.

    UTILIZATION

These guitars are super comfortable. The super thin body is fully contoured all around so it barely feels like there is a guitar there. It kind of disappears into your body when you are playing it. Some people like this some do not. The guitar is also very light due to its in construction. Some people like this some do not. The bridge is a cool design. It is like a Floyd Rose with a built in tremolo-no. You can adjust the tension on the springs very easily on the back of the unit so it makes changing tunings very easy. The Ibanez Wizard necks are some of the smoothest playing necks out there. They are thin and have a super flat radius. This with jumbo frets means you can get a very low action and you can really shred on them with ease. The jack input on this guitar is perfectly placed. It is just at the right angle to go and wrap around your guitar strap. More guitars should place their jack input like this.

    SOUNDS

Stock Ibanez guitars come with some of the worst pickups you can find on a decent guitar. The pickups they put on these guitars stock totally hold back the tone of these guitars. On these S models it is not helped that the guitar itself is super thin and does not provide that much natural tone. A guitar like this absolutely needs good pickups to sound good. The stock pickups are weak and dull thin and muddy and everything else bad you can say about a set of stock pickups. Its always aggravating when I plug in a stock Ibanez and I think my amp settings are wrong because I suddenly have like half the volume. Then I remember its the stock pickups. The neck pickups is smoother than the bridge but overall it is pretty muddy. The bridge pickups is harsh but does not have very much output to it so it cant really drive an amp like you would want a bridge pickup to do in a modern guitar.

    OVERALL OPINION

The playability sells this guitar. This guitar is perfect for a lot of people. People with bad backs or people who dont like heavy guitars love the Ibanez S series. They are so light and thin you hardly notice them and you can fully concentrate on playing. The stock tone on these guitars let them down. When getting an Ibanez like this you really need to plan on a immediate pickup swap. The pickups in this guitar are super weak and really have no business being on a guitar this good overalll.

    SOUNDS

V1, an output level of good enough, sounding rather hot (hot-neutral).

S2, Accurate, good treble. its a bit muffled.

Tone zone; The output level is not high enough, the slamming not appear, the V1 but less satisfactory ... I think seymour ask if something is no longer Péchu.

Note that I do not play hardly saturated.

    OVERALL OPINION

So I use this for now scratching less than a week.
I really like the configuration of microphones, which gives a good range of sounds, and contact with the wood directly, without varnish. I like a little less floyd who walk a little: s (I used to rely on the bridge of my Epiphone chtite).
I tried a lot of strats, a tele, an Ibanez RG, Ibanez s-a 470dxqm (something like that xD) epiphone better, but I admit that it is this that convinced me, especially by its handle and floyd.
I paid the scratches just under € 500, and I think it's a very good price.
with experience, I think I would do this choice. I was editing later to see if my enthusiasm has not influenced my opinion.

    An all-around excellent guitar

Pretty excellent overall. Body is thick around the pickups, and tapers out at the edges for lightweight comfort.

The neck is very thin and comfortable, easy to get around, and top frets are accessible. Some might complain it is too thin for comfort, no baseball bat necks here. The frets are solid, and have stood up to years of heavy playing without significant wear.

The ZR tremelo is fantastic, affordable yet stable. Adjusting intonation from that point isn't the easiest thing in the world. Adjusting action is a breeze.

The wiring is pretty well done, and has held its own.

    SOUNDS

The s470 is a very versatile guitar. I've used it on all kinds of amps, from Mesa Marks to vintage fenders. The HSH pickup configuration is excellent for achieving a wide variety of tones.

The pickups themselves aren't great, I would recommend an upgrade at some point.

The thickness of the body around the pickups is supposed to maintain sustain despite the overall thin body shape. Its no Les Paul, but isn't horrible either.

    OVERALL OPINION

This was the first electric guitar I bought, and it still sees heavy use today. I spent a full day picking it out and have never regretted my choice. For the price that these go for (especially used), I cannot think of a better first guitar, in terms of sound, playability, and quality.

It is made in Korea (and I understand the quality of more recent models has diminished), so the wood is probably not great. But the neck is comfortable and durable, tremelo is stable, and it sounds great. With a good pickup change, you have a guitar that is capable of standing its ground alongside instruments worth more than twice as much.

    UTILIZATION

The handle is a delight as he is fine and fast, it's on, it is not for the blues, although I play sometimes srv top, but send it out without forcing. One can easily go up to the last boxes. The body is very thin and it makes the guitar very comfortable to play.
The fact that the body is the end makes Gitare lightest also. However, despite the fact that there is less wood in theory, it sounds heavy!

    SOUNDS

For me this guitar is perfect because I was looking for something very versatile for sending big sounds. So I found what I was looking for.
The pickups are very effective and 5 positions can cover a wide range of sounds. We go from funky to very heavy easily. The neck pickup, it sounds pretty hot (I think), and sounds clear without any problem. Even in nickel is saturated.
Connected to a JVM 410H And I can even baffle 1936 to play jazz in a way bleuffante ...

    OVERALL OPINION

I have this guitar for about a month, I bought used because it is no longer manufactured. It is a fairly rare model is a bit old but runs perfectly.
Things are fine for what I want to do so we will say that this guitar suits me well.
Sounds are nice to me, it's light ... I do not think it qualities. plus I have not had for too much so I'm even more pleased.
Today these series are no longer manufactured in Korea ... or maybe or another, this is a japan model and we see the difference.
A remake that choice it would without hesitation, moreover, if I find one I bought second in relief.
I also have a luthier guitars and even if you can not really cosponsored these instruments between them I would say it sound like the comparison anyway.
A good guitar. (For me) but it may not suit everyone ...

The neck is super pleasant but high strings are too close to the edge of the handle, a little late when you have big paws ... Guitar yours well, that is a featherweight, the access to treble is correct (but there are better things worse).
Let's talk about "floyd" There are those whom the idoltre and those who hates me, well that is simple I use it! I miss him a ring at the tip or one shot clipped the bar of the bar is all rocky and unusable because there is a set standard ....
If we get easily a sound? No! the sound of the S470 is very particular and will not appeal to everyone!

    SOUNDS

Sound, a vast subject! Dja I prefer the cash announce the pickups are crap they are imprcis, cold besides ca m 'a waste (and it still repulses me) to play with this guitar, the sound is sucks like hell in the bridge position and too smothered in the neck position, the microphone in the middle is not dgueulasse with a tube screamer but after it yal amp that comes my personal game, the quality of the strings and everything and everything. DCID I can be one day change the pickups ... but to what? I think that a good pair of Burstbucker might do the trick (and yes Gibson pickups on a guitar of mahogany that is a great value!)

    OVERALL OPINION

How long I use it and well 6 years, I've played on Epiphone Les Paul Corenne I have tried Start Mex and U.S., I have a Jackson Randy Rhoads Japan, I've played on ESP LTD brief guitars on top, middle and low-end and S470 dfend pretty well, I bought from a friend who has used for a week because the sounds did not like.
This is not a guitar into the hands of a beginner!
With the exprience I will ever not have that choice and yet it is 6 years old that I, that is a guitar that has potential but is very particulire.

    SOUNDS

since at least 2004, and I immediately mounted above the previously mounted on a Dimarzio Ibanez jpm100 p2: 1 humbucker from hell and a tone zone
So is the particularity of 2 DiMarzio providing a sound clean and precise, this was not the case with the force of orgine humbucker.
having a single centrally allows her to have a bright palette rather interesting, and entretnir distinct sound levels, which I found very useful in my songs ...

I used it in 2 config:
    - With a marshall jcm 900 + + 4HP distortion of the amp
    - With a combo fender hotrod deluxe pedal + Hughes & Kettner

    OVERALL OPINION

Guitar made for going fast and well, and very clearly not to rock n roll vintage sauce.
I have other guitars, different (gibson, fender), but always had a guitar of this type for a sound other than rock n roll
j'aime bcp weight and aesthetics, and I will not get it made without anticipating the change of micro
I will ever be your choice for a moderate price, for sure
