ARKANE PRESTIGE 2000 (extracted from the black box No. 6)
The power and harmony, pure energy, fire control: the ultimate weapon ...
Smoothness of the curves and noble materials, a guitar in a dress wild exception. The great class ...
- Mahogany body with flamed maple top and natural maple binding
- Bolt Canadian maple, ebony fingerboard with 24 frets Brazilian (Compass round pearl inlay and "cross langdocienne" at 12th fret) scalopée in the treble from the 18th box, mechanical Shaller
- Floyd Rose Original Vibrato USA
- Pickups: 3 EMG (EMG 81 bridge, EMG S medium, EMG 89 neck),
- Controls: 1 5-way switch, 1 master volume, 1 tone control,
- Satin chrome hardware,
Equipped with Elixir strings and delivered in case Lag.
Note that the frets are Jumbo Jim Dunlop USA nickel / silver. In addition, this guitar haute couture, the knobs are very progressive, without much loss of treble and tone control is effective. compartments for electronics are shielded.
Made in France, Bédarieux, September 21, 2004 ...
I put 9 because we can always do better, although there is almost perfect, lol!
UTILIZATION
On the handle, both fine and consistent, it is fast, the ebony fingerboard is particularly enjoyable. The Canadian maple provides a feeling of fluidity. The last boxes are scalopées rendrent for the bends easier. Access to treble facilties with beveled heel. Furthermore, I find the handle - and the rest of the Violin - particularly easy to solve ... which is an asset.
The contoured shape provides superb handling, ergonomics and finish are excellent ... The weight is reasonable (although these are solid wood) as it is rather flat. I find this really racy Arkane.
This guitar is fitted with Dunlop strap locks, well done!
The vibrato is very good agreement, it is necessary nénamoins take the time to adjust to not having a noise nuisance.
Negatives: the selector seems fragile and not very practical (but fun), my model on the springs of the tremolo echo (I had to ease this problem with the foam). So -1
SOUNDS
Already, it sounds very good vacuum, which bodes well and once connected, I took a slap on the density of sound and dynamics delivered by the active pickups! In addition, luxurious wood bring warmth, fullness and sustain (mahogany thank you).
oriented muscular style, this lag, very versatile, is no less subtle means of various combinations of pickups (very clean and each having its personality):
The neck pickup is a true happiness (in addition there is splittable), fat and warm
the micro environment of the actual sound of slamming Fender and modulates other microphones in combination.
The micro chevalent is extremely precise and punchy, but may lack a bit of foundation in the bass, it is easily corrected with the amp, and then sends it! This micro grain "right" and modern (hence its side a bit "cold", some say), is made in the register provided for large saturations. less suited to other styles, anything with a good set of things we get nice. (-1). In fact, it can be very saturated tones while maintaining a very good definition.
The active electronics meet admirably the woods and the violin, delivering a very good sustain, and NOT a hair breath, even in single coil!
You can have sound from the lens to the big snarling distortion through the blues and rock. that's what I wanted. I'm thrilled!
Powerful and refined, I appreciate his musicianship ...
OVERALL OPINION
I bought this guitar a few months ago and I do not regret having paid 1,400 euros (promo before the new models + + small chips behind resumption old guitar). It is a high-end guitar that provides the level of quality sounds that can be learned. In search of a high-end guitar, I tried other guitars as in Vigier Excalibur, the Bumblefoot (who deceived me), a PRS (see!), Before falling for it This ... I have a soft spot for since my Lag Rockline metal master!
I play in a rock band but I play different styles (jazz, blues, rock, shred / metal)
The value for money, as I'm concerned, is excellent (as it was sold to its output 2400 euros). For cons, I find that new models are very expensive (almost 3,000 euros) when they have the titanium reinforcements and more ...
In sum: very good violin, ergonomic, dynamic, harmonious and beautiful sounds!
Edit 20/02/2009: I finally got tired of active pickups and I have mounted as the new Dimarzio Arkane 3000 (Air and Air Norton area):
Here are two videos to give you an overview of grain obtained ...
