I use it for one month, and I take my foot
For me this has no scratches default, that quality, I can not play on my Ibanez now
I tried some prs all models of guitars in Ibanez ESP up through Lag, Ernie Ball ... Lag but sounded much better than all other models, the silent especially well suited to my hands

Made in France at the workshop Bédarieux. Original Floyd Rose bridge. Black hardware, mechanical precision Lag. Canada's maple neck with 4 inserts and threaded section at the junction with the body. Head reported in Canadian maple veneer with black. 24 frets, ebony fingerboard (of Gabon a priori), one insertion pearl at the 12th fret. The last 7 are scalopées boxes. One has the impression that it is pretty useless in appearance, except when making a big bend in the treble! Handy! Jumbo frets, fairly broad. 648 mm. The radius is large enough, resulting in a fairly flat button (radius 400 mm on the latest Arkane, may be is this the case on it). Mahogany body covered with a solid top flamed maple (maple thus constitutes at least half the volume of the body). Very streamlined body and chamfered. Binding on the body in natural maple (maple table undyed). Finish transparent "Black Shadow", a superb ... 2 active pickups EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 85 (neck) + a 3-position selector. 1 volume + 1 volume pot general push-pull engaging EMG Afterburner preamp whose gain is adjustable via the volume pot. Guitar very simple in appearance yet very classy. Magnificent. Just note the lack of tone you one, futile at this level (see below).

UTILIZATION

The handle is a highway, something usual in Lag. Yet it is slightly wider and thicker than on Rockline series. It resembles the roundness of a handle ESP or Ibanez, see Gibson, and the width of the sleeves Jackson. The handle requires the palm of your hand, do not have small fingers! That said it is not harmful and rather positive plans for the arpeggio! The varnish is excellent and the feeling of gliding pleasantly magnified by the ebony fingerboard. Access to acute speaks for itself, it is simply perfection. The ergonomics are perfect, the guitar is very well balanced form stratabound playing a lot on it. The guitar, though rather slight, because its weight despite a very low thickness of the body. It is not wood crate! Regarding the sound, just scrape the strings: the crystalline sound, the sharp attack and sustain leave you speechless ... other than the guitar! The body resonates and vibrates as ever, it boggles the mind ... It is a lively guitar with his empty, already typed, will set the tone for more ... 9 / 10 as a handle slightly less round would have been a little wiser, but the tastes and colors ... UPDATE: 10/10! Once one has adapted to the size of the handle back on anything is impossible! It's perfection.

SOUNDS

This guitar is exactly my style of music and play an instrument is designed and dedicated to the guitar acrobatics, with a dominant edgy rock and metal. With the neck pickup (EMG 85), we rediscover what sound really clear: clean, neat, warm, round, alive. Without adjustment, it sounds like the introduction of One by Metallica. The tone is of no use here, the sound is perfect entry! Just a touch on the amp and roll Simone! Just have it add effects, sound crude enough in itself. A must in the genre. Saturation in the same microwave power is absurd: the shred, the legati boisterous or sweep to 300 km / h are allowed in problem! The sound is detailed, precise attack, always with the fullness and warmth characteristics. A pure delight for lovers of speed! Afterburner with the clear sound passes crunch fairly quickly, beware of this preamp if you already have a high-gain amplifier (which is my case!). But the features remain the microphone! The neck pickup (EMG 81), saturation is a classic. Nerve, incisive, precise, very far, ryhmiques are concrete and you recall the best solos of Kerry King and Kirk Hammet. For an EMG 81 on another Lag done in a different wood (linden), it is clear that the mahogany and maple table do the job! Not necessarily in terms of power and gain, but rather in terms of grain and sustain. It's less mushy, just! In his clear, it is doing very well because its very bright side can play well sympatic funk casseroles or to have his "Fenderien" playing with the volume knob. I have not really tested the mixture EMG 81 + 85 with the selector in center position. This will be an update ... UPDATE 10 December 2009: the mixture of the two microphones produces a phase-out rather interesting, more difficult to use than the two pickups separately. The sound is excellent example to make aerial shots, because the grain is subtle, sweet, a little remote (a little less presence), almost ethereal! We keep the brightness of 81 in bridge (less aggressive) and adds a bit of roundness in the 85 round. The spectrum of the two pickups together is actually very different from the sum of spectra separated ... Try on different styles of music, there is a way I think to do something pretty cool! Obviously this guitar does not have the sound of a Gretsch, a Les Paul, a Fender, a Jackson or a Rickenbacker at the same time, but is versatile enough to be able to tackle many styles. But the metal remained her preferred playground! The guitar has been tested on a pre-amp and a Rocktron Lag Spitfire Intellifex waiting to be tested on a 6505 + head (in an apartment, um-hum ...). Update to come during the first tests on his head and his cabinet Engl 412 V30 ... All sounds are good, I did not notice black dots. It is made for a specific job, it does so to perfection. 10/10 because this is THE guitar I want.

Is the total avoinerie! I rarely heard scores as defined and sharp on the guitar. It is clear, dynamic, precise, mediums rain, the sustain is monumental. I have another Lag in EMG 81 + EMG 89/85 like it, well with the same settings, I am forced to reduce the pre-gain of the head at least half a notch with the Absolute to have a level of saturation and its equivalent! This means if the mahogany body and maple top has a dramatic effect! In short, is crying!

OVERALL OPINION

I did that for several weeks, much of it at the luthier for adjustments of circumstances (+ a flatness, a small catch of frets and a change in drawing, 9 / 46 in this case for a standard tuning mi). I tried a lot of models, including a bunch of lag, Jackson, Schecter, Gibson, Ibanez, ESP few, the Epiphone, Fender, PRS and even ... What I like most? The sleek look and class, (s) sound (s), the configuration of microphones, the Original Floyd Rose, the ebony, the beautiful maple table, ergonomics, access to acute, the presence of this preamp which increases the possibilities, the varnish on the back of the neck ... The only thing that makes me wince in the immediate (and even then it's just a matter of time and habit) is the thickness of the handle. It's a race of man who takes a little time to adapt. Nothing too bad because I'm used to ultra-thin rounds of Rockline ... I acquired the guitar at a price of 1000 euros in first hand. There was a burst of varnish (since taken over by the luthier) quite big on the head and the settings were in cabbages (the previous owner had obviously not made any settings since the purchase, here are 5 years old!). Knowing that this is an upscale to 2600 euros (of time, the same as for the current Arkane 3000), I did not complain (I just added 165 euros a luthier ...). This is not about to repeat or not this choice, it had been years since I wanted this guitar! It's done! 10/10, because if I had to make a model out, it would be very close to it ...
