It fait6 months I have gained occasion. After a little dust control, I take much of this great guitar! It's great to progress and that advantageously replaces over my old Jim Harley. I just feel of being in another world. : O I like the look a lot more, stratocaster style but a little more round and transparent sunburst color is very beautiful. The quality-price is excellent for me since I pay 50 euros Cygnus, but it is well worth its 200 euros new. This is a great guitar, perfect for beginners but can be stored then. Of course I would do this choice because I had a good opportunit but otherwise I would have bought new when m me! In the "low end" I think it's been part of what is becoming more versatile AndFor pastrop expensive.See less00 - skead

I play soul, funk, reggae, some rock, and this guitar is versatile enough for all styles (thanks to torque position 1/position5)
OVERALL OPINION
I use the lady for 7 years, I bought it used so it must be 8 or 9 years. I bought two electric guitars since (a type epiphone les paul and ES339), but I always come back to this one. This is a very good alternative to Squier (cheaper I think), and a good scratch to start (as versatility, simplicity and comfort) and more (I'm not a beginner but I play it very often!).See less50 - MGR/Anonymous

It tend to go a bit out of tune when put it to max test with the trem, but besides that, no complaints... oh, one thing: the pickups lack a bit of clarity ( single coils).
Very stable neck ( I once left it in the trunck of my car at -20c for two hours and it froze!!! got it indoors and played it aside a fire, it unfreezed, the neck stayed stabled. Didn't move a bit!). Good resonant wood (basswood body). Tuners look high quality and they're precise.
I've played and owned guitars that are 4 to 5 times the price tag of this peavey raptor exp and I still do but the only thing is that I keep comming back to it everytime so the others tend to stay in their cases... this is proof that you don't need to pay full price for a good axe!

I like the warmth of the sound, and the pickups
I don't like the whammy bar, it comes loose sometimes.
The construction is great for a Peavey, and the quality is awesome.
If you're learning guitar, get this one! It rules!

So I<ve seen this guitar in the journal...I've paid 150 Canadian dollars for it, It was second-hand and the owner gave me a tuner, a stand and the strap with it.
It sound great, the tones are awesome, the gutiar is beautiful, easy to play on, etc.
The switch to change the tone makes strange noises i will have to repair it
This is some great quality guitar for the price and I recommend it to everybody who starting.

I like the humbucker, and the whammy bar doesn't make the guitar fall out of tune. Nice Smooth Neck
It buzzed when I put the thicker strings I like (GHS Boomers, 11s) on it, but after adjusting, it got a bit better.
Pretty good. Nothing very special
Good for the price. Don't use heavy strings, its not worth it. I like the tuners, very smooth, and don't lose tune very much.

Since I'm not independently wealthy and I'm not a rock star, I was looking for something reasonably priced that didn't sound like it came out of a cereal box. Well...I figured for $129.00, how good can it be? Answer: you'd be surprised! I was. I looked it over very carefully and was pleasently surprised at the fit and finish. High gloss finish with white pickguard and pups/knobs. S/S/H Fat Strat configuration and Strat-alike double cut and belly contour. Stock Fender-style whammy bar w/master volume and tone controls. 5-way selecter switch. Hard rock maple neck w/rosewood fretboard and medium frets. Comfortable to play with a rather thin neck. Not the Fender ball bat, not quite the Ibanez Wizard, but comfortable for my hand. Electronics all smooth and quiet. Output jack on bottom edge instead of the Strat "cats-eye". This is more convenient for playing, but don't drop it! Single coils are MUCH brighter than the Mex Strats and Ibanezs. The Bridge Hummer gives you the capability to decend into bombastic metal filth, if you desire. Very versatile. In-between settings will let you chicken-pick or blues squawk, too. Kinda the best of both worlds.
It doesn't have female genitalia, but what should you expect for $129.00? Seriously...there's not much to dislike. The pups aren't Seymore class, but they're far and away better than average, even for higher priced intsruments. Obsolete whammy bar. Laminated body(think butcherblock, not plywood) shows through trans red finish. Joins very faintly noticeable. Comes from the factory with strings that are a little heavier than I like. I had my guy change 'em for some D'Addario XLs which were more comfortable for me. I'm kinda nit-picking here.
Outstanding for an import. The research I did on this piece before I bought it says that the bodies are made in America and sent to China, where they are mated with the Chinese-made necks. The rest of the guitar is assembled in China, too. One bonus...American electronics! The pots are smooth as silk and the pups are the quietest I've ever heard. The Fenders sounded like a jet aircraft by comparison and the pots felt like they had sand in 'em. Stays quiet until you pour on the gain or kick in the effects. Then it hums a bit. Not too obnoxous. The neck fits tight into the body with no gaps. I checked this with a piece of slide acetate. I repeat, no gaps. Not a single Fender or Ibanez passed this test. They also had fret overcuts that the Peavey did not have. Frets dressed nicely and no buzzing, even with the lighter guage strings. Neck grain straight, not ringed or birdseyed. Satin finish that plays fast. Came out of the box with no adjustment needed and in tune. In fact, it had no tension on the neck at all. I may have to tweak this after some months of play. The tuners looked like Gotohs to me. If they're not, they look identical and they stay in tune under all loads. I have whammied it out of tune, but only marginally and only after serious EVH worship.
This guitar is the best deal in Axland right now. Sound and build quality that you'd expect in a much more expensive piece. The price/value ratio can't be beat. If you are a beginner or just need something that gets you that KWS or SRV sound, this is the most guitar for the least cash. I love mine and I've been playing off and on for 30 years. This guitar makes me want to pick it up and play it. Get yours today!

There is now support for this product and I have since stopped conducting bussiness with Daddy's Junky Music since they refuse to work with me on trying to fix the problem, even though the guitar is only a little over a month old.
I do not recommend this guitar for anyone since it will only frustrate beginners because of the tuning problem. More advanced players would find the action to be somewhat high.
I ended up buying a bc rich mockingbird and have been very happy with that guitar. Anybody want to buy a slightly used peice of crap?

The tremolo bridge on the guitar is a tad unstable--it will drag the guitar out of tune after a session of dive-bombing. This is only a minor problem though--I can't really fault the guitar for it.
The quality on the guitar is uniformly high--no flaws. Straight out of the box, there are no scratches, and nothing is loose. As I said before, the tuning pegs are good sealed units--another plus. Also, the guitar has a 5-year warranty (hurray!).
This is an excellent guitar. If you are looking for a first guitar, you should definetly check this one out. For the money you pay, you get an incredibly high quality, versatile instrument that can produce any sound you want and play any stlye of music--whether it be rock, punk, metal, country(shudder) or anything else you can think of.

And so, on August 10th, 2002, I became the proud owner of this Peavey guitar, after my parents forked over $150 for it, with an aditional $150 paying for a Peavey amp, amp lead, and Korg tuner. At first, I was disappointed with my purchase (I'd wanted either a Strat or a Les Paul), but after a while I grew quite attached to it. By the way, if you're ever in Norwalk, CT, be sure to visit Select Guitars. The staff is quite helpful, their merchandise is top notch, and their Peavey guitars are inexpensive.
Where would you like me to begin? First, the neck is incredibly thin, which, in case you didn't know, is good for fast playing and fretboard pyrotechnics. Speaking of the fretboard, fret access on this guitar is easier than on a Stratocaster. This guitar has a humbucker in the bridge position, which produces riffs that sound good beyond words. The headstock looks cool, resembling the Strat's peghead, but with an 'arrowhead' shape instead of a circle. The upper cutaway is longer than the Strat's, which looks much cooler than it does on the Strat. Fender employees, take that as a hint. The tremolo sounds much better than the Strat's, and sounds remarkably like an original Floyd Rose unit. Basically, anything the Strat can do, the Raptor can do better
...and the list goes on and on.
Unfortunately, the tremolo is unstable-if you 'divebomb' like Eddie Van Halen, you'll need to retune as soon as possible. Also, the shiny finish is so reflective, it's prone to smudging at the slightest touch (if you don't like smearing your fingerprints all over your instrument, you'll need to polish this guitar almost constantly). However, similar problems plague the Strat, so this problem isn't that big a deal.
Picture a Strat with a humbucker in the bridge position, a slightly different headstock design, a shiny-looking sunburst finish, only one tone control, a longer upper cutaway, a more rounded pickguard, and a different, more versatile, sound, like nothing you've ever heard. When I bought the Peavey, it was absolute mint condition. It looked like it had never been touched without rubber gloves or the like. Whereas this design may have been merely an echo of Leo Fender's original design, the Peavey corporation has done here what Fender failed to do.
To make a long story short, whether pop, metal, rock, country, or any other sound for that matter, is what you crave, the Peavey Raptor Plus EXP will give you any sound you can think of (and some that you couldn't). On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the best, the Peavey scores a twelve in my book!

It's got better fret access than the Strat, it has a Humbucker in the bridge position, the tremolo arm is just as good as that of a Strat, and it sounds awesome, even on low volume settings. And did I mention that it didn't cost much?
Unfortunately, it needs to be retuned whenever you use the tremolo. The tuners suck-if you twist them so much as a millimeter too far, the string will break. Also, the jack isn't positioned like it would be on a Strat-if i drop it, the amp lead is broken beyond repair.
When I got it, it was brand new, but I've broken it in, so to speak. Aside from a little scuff-mark on the peghead, it was in mint condition.
As long as I've got this Peavey guitar, I'll be free of the obsession that everyone has with Fender and Gibson products. On a scale of one to ten, I give the Peavey Raptor Plus EXP a twelve!
