Everything has already been said above, it's still low-end even if the quality of the violin is quite impressive for this price! ...
It has three microphones and a hambucker (double) to the bridge.

UTILIZATION

First approach to the guitar, the neck is her best asset! it is very comfortable to play in any position, at the same time it is a Stratocaster and the Squier is the sub-brand of Titan Fender so it does not surprise me!

The selector position is a little cheap, but good for the price ..
At first she did not want the agreement more than 12 hours but after 3 months of use it begins to sometimes hold two weeks without detuning while I have not even changed the strings? .. weird but it's better ^ ^

It is shaped Strat, you must love it or not, I love it! it is surprisingly light!

We not access too hard to acute but hey you not buy a Squier for shredder like crazy! It's just a matter of habit ..
It is easy to get the sound you want, it's still a very versatile Start!

SOUNDS

It suits my style of music, I play mostly Rock -> Metal and you can not ask for more for this price range! The sound is a bit messy if you play quickly distortion but it is the entry level so it is not asking for the moon!

It does its job without flinching and adapts perfectly to any Fender / Squier.

Otherwise the sound is very good light, crunch and saturated, but strong distortion is absolutely not his area! expect a good modeling amp types Mustang II if you want to do EXTREME HARD DEATH METALCORE THAT KILLS!

OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is a good guitar that will perfectly friends with the hands of a beginner looking for a guitar with a good value and a good sound!
In addition to well manage in his, I must admit it is really beautiful!

UTILIZATION

Full size despite a Chinese construction and ergonomics known and recognized a stratovolcanoes. The neck is satin patina with perspiration and use and is very pleasant.
Obviously the microphones will never be as a pearly gates and texas special but they fulfill their role, especially at this price.

SOUNDS

The sounds vary with the microphones and can play many styles and sounds of approaching home, especially with a Vox VT.
There are bound to offer a versatility to the amp, in terms of sonic possibilities is almost infinite. For quality, I have already written, the microphones will never be as the more upscale models while maintaining their jobs.

OVERALL OPINION

The value for money is very good that we see shovels "pourraves" have almost disappeared from the market.
I would replace the pick-guard by a 3-layer model with more screws!
As for replacing the pickups, it will be rather with the purchase of another skyscraper.

I bought this guitar at Guitar Center for like 120 bucks. I had been playing a cheap a acoustic as my first guitar for a while and decided I wanted an electric. I bought this one manly for the price since at the time I didn't even know how to work the pickup selector. I just liked the way this one looked with the classic big headstock and bright red paint.

Price, sound, qualitity. It was cheap, but you still get the strat sound (although you can certainly tell the difference between an American and this). You can sound like Clapton, or Hendrix, or pretty much anyone who uses a real strat. Every pickup is useful as well. Also being made by Fender it's basically indestructible, I've thrown this thing (kinda) with no ill effect. Also the sixties big headstock and red paint are hard to resist.

If you use the tremelo for much more than vibrato or a little dip be prepared to retune, also, mine did not come with the arm so I had to buy it seperate. The tuning machines are pretty good, but the tremolo still assists and knocking you out of tune, even when not used, though it is not too bad, unless the strings are aging or not well broken in.

Amazing for the price, for all the abuse I've put mine through, the only thing that is really damaged is an ever so slightly loose tuning machine that is only noticeable when there isn't a string on it. Also on the lower cut-out the pickguard comes off the body a bit, although storing picks there probably hasn't helped matters.

Cheap, well constructed, Strat sound. What more can you say, a great beginner's guitar. Much better than getting a bullet

I got this at guitar center about two years ago. I paid $149.99 for it. I got it becuase at the time I was really into Jake E. Lee of Ozzy and so I got it.

I like the look and feel of this guitar. Very wide range of sounds makes it great for players who are more for show than music. I like the shape cause it fits perfectly on your body.

I dont like the toggle switch or the whammy bar. The toggle always gets shorted. And the whammy is horrible. It throws it completely out of tune. but if you take off the cover on the back you can make it tighter. That helps a little. Or you can do like Eddie Van Halen did and put coins under it to keep it put.

Over all its a great guitar. Good for begginers and people who want to put on a show.

I love it for certain solos and songs. When I feel in the mood to put on a show I use this guitar.

The top tone knob is for the neck pickup
and the tone knob in the bottom is the bridge pickup.The volume knob is for all

There is nothing I don't like about this guitar.I hate heavy metal,so I am glad there are only single-coil pickups.The distortion is very smooth though,so all
you need is more wattage to do heavy metal.

aren't real Fenders is NOT true!It
even says Fender under the Squier name on
the headstock.It is exactly the same as
the one with only Fender on the headstock!
It has that good old 60's twang.It
also looked gorgeous.It had a slimmed down body,too.And you see,most affordable guitars are laminated.This can be one of two things.
1.It is made of ply wood.
2.It is made of cheap compressed varieties
of wood in one guitar.
The Squier affinity strat is SOLOD ALDER.
The body is contoured to fit who ever is playing it.It is a musical instrument as
well,not just a tool to make music with.

It is the perfect guitar unless you like humbuckers(pickups better for heavy metal).The pickups give no feedback(most single-coil pickups do.)It has a variety of sounds.It's a "real"guitar.However if you like both heavy metal and 60's rock,save money and buy an affinity fat strat.The have a humbucker at the bridge,a single-coil pickup in the middle and a single-coil pickup at the neck.

I got this guitar in an affinity series strat pack from Billy Hyde Music blackburn for $700 (au)

I think this is a great guitar, it was my first guitar and i fell in love with it, it has an extremly fast neck and is terribly comfortable, i think squier have put this guitar together briliently!

the only thing that i dislike about this guitar is its pickups, they're perfectly fine but i like to play more heavy music on it and the single coils arnt as apropriate for that but its perfect for any other kind of music!

Squier have done a great job putting this guitar together, nothing is loose and it just feels right. It produces a great sound but its not as apropriate for heavyer music, (but just chuck abit of crunch gain on ur amp and its fine)

Great guitar have to be one of the most comfortable guitars ive ever played, bigginers should jump on this guitar because its curtainly will inspire you to play! buy it now

I bought this guitar from "Rock-Steady Music" in Harrogate. It cost £140 (normal price for this guitar)on its own.I was looking for i nice beginers guitar that was easy to play.

If you are looking for your first guitar to learn off this is the guitar for you! It is easy to play and has i nice rosewood neck. The frets are jumbo and the sring action is low.

The critisism i give to this guitar is terabble huming coming from the three single coil pick-ups. And with out a loking nut the strings go out of tune easily and you have to ressist temtation of the tremelo arm.

When i got this guitar i looked for any problems but i couldn't find any. The Pick ups only hum in certain places with high radio signals and can sometimes actually pick them up so if you were doing a live gig you might what to be care full of everyone going silent when your amplifire starts blasting out some cheesy dance music off the radio. The finish is nice and is available in solid blacks, reds, greens, blues and quite a nice sun burst finsh.

All to gether a perfect beginers guitar but not something you whant to dwell on for years. Mabey keep it for a couple of years.
Quality nice, Sound ok, apearance...looks like any fender stratocaster.

I needed a relatively cheap electric guitar to learn on and so acquired the model at Liverpools Dawsons music store as part of the 'Strat Pack' for around £200. Models individually range between £120 to £170 depending on the store.

The strat has many attractions. Other than being cheap, it is of good quality and the finish is clean and precise. It has a superb look to it (as all strats do) and it is insanely comfortable and ergonomic as guitars go. The neck just fits perfectly in the hand allowing comfortable movement up the frets and the body is shaped so playing is easy standing or sitting. A sound example of geat product design.

The pickups. For the price of the guitar they're not that bad but they are quite noisy on some models. Also, the strings which come with the guitar on purchase are not correctly suited and may be too fat and even hard to hear without an amp. I suggest purchasing 'slinkier' strings to allow the sound to ring out more in a more Stratocaster style. Super bullets or super slinkies are my preference.

The quality is not of the same standard as genuine fender models but is impressive none-the-less. The fittings of the neck, bridge and pick ups are surprisingly good for this model. The only snag is that the machineheads can be a little cheap though this is not that much of a problem.

A superb beginners guitar, exceeds all other cheap strats, encores, westfields, staggs etc.. due to the quality of the manufacture and the sound produced. Totally worth the money.

I bought the Strat Pack guitar center for around 200 dollars. I'm just a beginner so I said what the hell it's cheap and its got the Fender design.

First of all, this guitar is way way way too underrated, it sounds incredibly on a decent amp (I replaced the stock amp with a 30W Crate) and its neck is just so thin and smooth, I can just slide my hand easily. And i've been playing for quite a few months and all i see is progress on this guitar.

well its cheap, so you can't expect too much out of this..BUT my main point is that this guitar, no matter how cheap, is too underrated. Just because it's not an original Fender it doesn;t mean it's a crappy knock off.

construction is pretty damn decent if you ask me. I'm not too pleased with overall construction quality, but remember this guitar is under 200 dollars at any store probably.

THIS GUITAR IS STILL TOO UNDERRATED. Just go an buy one if you're a beginner you will be pleased, unless you suck hard, and if you just suck..dont blame the guitar, trust me this guitar is nothing to be laughed at

I bought this guitar in Winnipeg, Manitoba at St. Johns music for about $320 Canadian. It was my first guitar.

It sounds great, pick ups are solid, head is beautiful, saddle/bridge is easy to adjust, neck is smooth, 21 frets, it looks great, and it is amazingly durible.

Not much that i dont like except how i didnt find out that it was affinity strat until yesterday because the "affinity" writing is so small :P lol.

found nothing wrong with it yet extremely durible too.

The bottom line is that this guitar is great for beginners or pros. I recomend it for anyone looking for a great guitar at a great price.

Bought it as a package for my son ( mainly ) with amp, bag, leads etc from a store in Sydney. Paid AUD$699 for the lot.Its the special run red wine colour Affinity Fat Strat

Nice action along the whole neck. No fret buzz anywhere.Vol / Tone controls work well. Overall good sound in all 5 positions.Not too heavy ( good for junior ).

The single coils are a bit noisy and it doesn't stay in tune well but thats probably due to the weather in Sydney at the moment. 34 deg c one day and 19 deg c and rainy the next.

Solid construction, beautiful paint job, no blemishes. Best I tried.

Its actually a pretty good unit for a non pro / average player or learner. I tested a number of Squire Strats at a few places and found the overall quality varies a bit. Worth taking the time to hunt out a good one. Nice action, good crunch from the humbucker. Had a Gibson LP Custom many years ago and whilst the Squire is no Gibson its certainly not 10 times worse ( which is about the price diff here ).

I bought this guitar at George's Music Superstore for $220.

It is a great beginners guitar. The two single coils and humbucker in the bridge offer a good tonal variety for someone new to electric guitar. I also like the thin neck, which makes it very easy to barre.

Once you become acustomed to electric guitars the pick-up tone leaves you wanting. Also, the floating bridge becomes a slight nuisance when you want to put on strings above the factory installed 9's. It is not hard to get around though, I just put the third spring given to you when you buy the guitar on and the problem was solved.

The quality is really good for how inexpsensive the guitar was. Yet, it is obviously not the best you can buy, but if you want better quality you are going to have to buy a more expensive guitar. Also, the tone quality is somewhat lacking.

I love my strat but it is, as I have said, not the best guitar in the world. But, if you want to learn electric I would recomend this guitar.

i bought this guitar for 300$ at music shop next to my home.
i wanted to buy a black beautiful ibanez but in the end i liked the clean and clear sound of the strat using only single coil pick ups..with no humbucking.
it is a blue colored guitar.

i like the sound of this guitar.it is comfortable ..easy to love..

i dont like the fact that it was made in china but for a begginer i needed a good guitar and in the same time not too expensive .
another thing is the tremolo unit ..it is not easy to use..and each time i take its arm outside it leaves sprinkles of gray metal on the guitar.
also the when setting the switch on one of the pickups ..there is an annoying noise heard in the amplifier..this noise is canceled when the switch is in betweem the 3 pickups position 2 and 4.

most of it is good quality.
i dont like the bridge and the tremolo unit is not of high quality.
smooth finishing..comfortable..


for a begginer that like the clean sound of fender it is a good guitar and with good price... 300$.
the only thing i would change there is the tremolo unit...
but first i prefer to focus in studying playing the guitar adn when times come..if i'll be good enough i'll move to higher quality guitar of fender.

i bought this guitar at swing city music for 220 and it sounds great i mean the pic-ups are just pitiful but it sounds real awsome i was thinking of installing dimarzio pic-ups just to make it sound more heavier thats gonna be some change.but i have crate 30 wat with no prosesor.it still sounds ok but id rather have a good digital sound.

this guitar has a dark blue baltic blue color to it.it sounds like the yellow fender off of crossroads.it my first guitar i also have aibanez but im on the squire.

like i said earlier the pic-ups suck there is hardly any feedback to it.

i like the guitar but i need some better pic-ups.

I bought this guitar at Daddy's Junky Music because I really wanted to learn guitar after jamming with my friend. I paid $280 for the whole package.

I like the fact that it is a solidly built insturment.

I hate that it only has single coil pickups. I pulled the input jack out of the jack plate trying to unplug the cable. (Warranty will cover this if it happens to yours.) I hated the picks and strings that came with the pack and the fact that is had a book instead of a video to learn from.

It is very good qualoty but the wood used to make this sounds really cheap and dull.

It is an ok guitar for beginners, unless you want to start learning heavy metal riffs, because the single coil pickups don't have the growl or the balls of humbucking pickups.

I bought my Squier in a StratPack from zzounds.com for $250.

It is a great guitar for the money. If my best friend wanted to start playing I would definetly recomend it. It is affordable, it will take some abuse, it plays well, and it sounds great.

It looks to plain. Half of the guitars in the world are strats or strat copies. The only other thing I could complain about is the StratPack. buy the amp seperately. The one that Fender gives you is a worthless box that should be in a garbage dump.

It is sturdy and fairly scratch resistant.

A good guitar for begginers and people with limited budgets.

I bought this guitar For $279.00, bran new. I was told that it is a good beginnger guitar. Everyone I knew who had a Strat bought a pack. Mine came with one(1) Humbucker and two(2) single coil pickups.

It is a good beginner guitar hands down. The sound is tolerable. Has a nice look to it and easy fret board to work with.

Ok, The frets give out such a tingey sound when you firt get it. I know all guitars have it, but this was EXTREMELY anoying because it did not go away and it was very loud, you have to work them in. I was tempted to work them in with some sand paper. You have to relize the price tag on it though. This is a guitar for a beginnger, nothing above. Go the extra mile and buy something better if you are experienced. Thats why I traded mine in and saved up for a Les Paul

Like I said, look at the price tag. It has an ok look to it. reasonably durable. Mine took a beating and still lasted me. Watch out you dont screw in you whami bar the wrong way.

This guitar I would say is nothing bad and nothing great. It is for someone who has just decided to take up guitar, Thats all I would reccomend this for. But it is ok for the price it is sold for.

I perchased this guitar at Daddy's Junky Misic. I have just started taking lessons. Because of my budget and experience I couldn't get much. I got advice and bought the Squier Affinity Stratocaster for $149.95.

I like the design of this unit because it is a clasic. I am happy with the sound and durrability of this guitar. I was also pleased with its affordability.

I don't like that this unit is mmade with less quality materials than the Fender Stratocaster. It only has a 1 ply pickguard in stead of 3 ply. The pickup leave a loud hum. The tunning nobs also are not well made.

The Stratocaster has a 60's style headstock, a maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The body is made of alder or agithus. It has standard Die-cast tuners, chrome hardware, a synchronous tremolo bridge, and 3 single coil pickups. The quality of the product is good, but could not outlast constant jamming.

I would recomend this guitar to any first timers that want to start on an electric. Easy to upgrade and add on to. I think this is a great guitar but if you have the money I would recomend a tried and true Fender Stratocaster.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! this is without the worst excuse for a "guitar" i've ever seen in my entire life!! if i could give this a negative rating i'd give it -9999999!!! it's the biggest dissappointment i've ever been so unfortunate as to lay eyes on in my entire life!!

what i like?? how good it feels to smash this thing to on the ground over and over again until it can never be played by a human again!!! i like this guitar about as much as having german measles, the flu, 4 broken limbs, and a brain tumour all at the same time!

EVERYTHING!! you have to put like 30 000 psi of pressure on the frets so they dont buzz 10 000 chainsaws! the tone knob is half an inch away from the bottom string!! to top it off the guitar comes out of tune everytime u look at it the wrong goddamned way!, never mind actually PLAYING the thing!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC!

I got the Affinity Strat wen I was just getting started, I picked it up at Guitar Center after looking through the whole Guitar selection in my price range. I picked it because it was backed by Fender and I liked the color(mines Baltic Blue)I paid around $165.00

Due to popular Belief many think Squire guitars are just a cheap no good imatation of Fender units however I also own a Fender Mexican Strat and I prefer playing my Affinity Strat just because of the sound and the feel is great, Squire Guitars are built thinner then your average Fender and I like that to.

Pickups are a bit of a problem just because you need to turn the amp up a little louder to here them(I run a Crate 125W)

Seems fine to me haven't noticed any manufacturing problems and I've had the thing for 3 years.

This is a great Guitar for not just the beginner but for anyone who wants a Strat, I don't reccomend buying the strat pack though I've playing guitars from the pack and I noticed the quaility wasn't as good as buying the guitar Seperatly as I did. Its fitted with Guage 9 strings I refitted mine with 10s(I prefer heavyer strings) I've noticed this gives it a way better tone. This is deffinatly the best guitar I've played yet.

I purchased this guitar in the Strat Pack form www.zzounds.com for $250. I bought it beause it looked like a good beginer guitar at a good price.

The Strat is cool looking with great colors. It also sounds great. It is very durable and well built. It is comfortable to use. It is also a great value. Ithink it is better than any other guitar in its price range.

There is really nothing I don't like about the Strat.

It is very durable. It came assembled correctly and I have had no problems. It has a very high quality construction.

The Squier Strat is great! I would recomend it to anyone who wants a great guitar at a great price.

This guiitar was given to me as a christmas present as a beggining guitarist (on the electric guitar). This was about 2 Years ago and i have moved on to better guitars and equipment. this guitar ran at about $125.

This guitar is a nice begginer guitar. My guitar came with one humbucker and two coil pickups. The guitar has a nice neck to it.and the price is the most affordale ( my processor (guitar effects) cost more)

now for the downs...where do i start... well the biggist problem i had was that the G.b. and E strings are muted at the 1st and 2nd frets!!!! this was soooo fustrating! for cleaning and getting the plastic off the pickgaurd the knobs get to be a problem. they are there to stay unless you want to break them ( they may come off but i don't want to risk breaking the thing if i want to give it to my children years from now). i also had the output jack fall apart this was a easy fix but i got nervus. And the fix was tedius to do................... as for the rest of the problems they will accure in other squiers because they need to take some building lessons from P.R.S and IBANEZ.

this guitar needs a lot of work and i think the muted frets on the g,b, and e string is rediculas ... but i think you get this kind of guitar for that kind of money

I bought this guitar at my local music store. I paid $167.00 on sale due to it's un popular color.

The neck is perfect size the jumbo frets give it a nice metal on metal blusey sound. This guitar also stays in tune very well. With it's Humbucker it makes disrotion sound alot smoother.

The only thing i dislike about this guitar is the "G" string is hard to bend due to it's proximity to the edge of the fret board.

This guitar has a very solid neck to body joint. I know squire is suppose to be the generic Fender but before this i had a fender telo caster and i don't notice any difference in quality. I think the "generic" brand is extremely under rated.

I think the Squire name desevrves much more recognition it is the same as a fender at half the price. When it comes down to it what do you want to spend your money on a popular name or a nice guitar.

I bought this guitar off one of my friends for $100. It is worth $209.99. I am still debating whether I should play bass or guitar. I really want to try bass instead. Because chords are really hard to play. I think I could see myself playing a bass instead.

I like the guitar I have because it is a nice affordable guitar. It is the cheapest guitar I've seen yet. Plus, it is pretty good for the money I paid for it.

I don't like the guitar because it might not give as good of a sound as a $2000 guitar would.

My guitar consists of:
hardwood body, one-piece neck, synchronous tremolo, andthree single-coil pickups

It has a black body with a white scrathboard.

I have a descent guitar. But would rather play a bass. Just because that is what I origninally wanted to play.

I bought this unit in a Squire StratPack. I have been playing classic guitar for 32 years and decided it was time to try my hand at electric guitar and so I purchased the StratPack as a first electric guitar and amplifier. I purchased it at the Music Loft in Greensboro, NC for $256.



It is an excellent starter/first electric guitar. It has a very light action and is easy to play. The quality of workmanship is good and the finish is perfect. It is a lot of fun and easy to play.



The action is so light that I think the Jumbo Frets should be lower. If I grip the neck too tightly, (like when I play a D chord) the notes are distorted. This doesn't happen with my classical Yamaha guitar.


There is also a low spot on the 9th fret at the G string. This causes buzzing. I'm not sure how to correct it short of having the fret wire professionally replaced. Too bad I didn't find out about the problem earlier. (I have had the guitar for 12 months and one week and it is out of warranty.)




The wood body is well carved and finished. The paint job is perfect and all of the joints are well matched. The quality is much better than I had expected for a budget/discount import.


The machine heads are well made and the guitar stays in tune very well, even when played hard.


The adjustable bridge comes already well adjusted and it can be played right out of the box, with only a minor tuning (and letting the axe stablize to the temperature and humidity in your home).




I am well pleased and would buy another. I am thinking of possibly getting a hardtail like the Squire Standard Telecaster. Then again, it may be time to step all the way up to a New Fender American.
