Mine is a very particular model of 1990 and t he made in USA very rare and therefore has some quivalant fender. it has 3 single microphones 2 adjustment of tonality and a master volume. it has a maple neck with rosewood fretboard 21 frets.

USE

The handle is very pleasant and is varnished so very convenient for slide. access to the treble is pretty good and the weight of the whole is very correct. the sound is excellent but fo that it was not the same on the new (moin good after me)

SONORITS

Perfect for rock blues metal quiet. I play with a Marshall MG30DFX the couple very well. all his sound good except very large distortion.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I tried a few other models mostly telecaster and stratocaster and I must say it is has good height and TV fender strat that costs all of even much more expensive.
I use it for about 5 years and is gnial for its price range even if it is more than a new one today (it is about 700 euro because it is very rare) with the experience I do not know if I would do this choice, but what is certain is that I never venderais.

Being a fan of Billy Talent and guitarist Ian D'sa, I got it into his head to me a guitar made in the colors of his guitar.

As already possessor of two Squier (Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster Squier and standard precision bass special), I left the closed eyes on this brand.

So I dug LA gem: a whole body Squier Standard Strat 'black metallic + handle Mexican telecaster with mechanical ......... for € 30! They are people who do not know the value of their property!

I changed all the electronics for the fender us (knobs, selector) for forty euros.

I changed the bridge pickup to a DiMarzio DP226 Hotrail, bought € 40 Cygnus' instead of 100 € new.

I changed the 3-ply pickguard for a fender 11 holes (20 € OCCAZ ')

I missed to finish the plate and behind the plate with the handle screw (20 € on the internet)

UTILIZATION

I would not be very objective about the handle because I was not in possession of the original ... When the handle fender mex ... a highway once properly adjusted and impeccable finishes.

On the body, budget requires, we're on the agathis ... or "wooden crate" as some say. The body is very light hand (the only highlight of the agathis), the shape is very ergonomic knockouts thanks to the stomach and right arm (compared to telecaster who have no knockouts, is the day and night)

To play live and jump around, have a light guitar is still a significant asset.

SOUNDS

I chose to keep the original microphone for the neck and middle. They do the job well, we recover the typical sound Start '. Nothing to do with Noiseless, but are the strat is whatever is said!

When the Hotrail DiMarzio DP 226 ... it is very simple, we just feel like switching guitars!

This is the first time I make a guitar "tailor" an unforgettable experience that I would do with pleasure.
I want to clarify that even be up a guitar is not that complicated, and I invite all the guitarist has to do the same. Looking good on the internet and taking his time, it has come to be a very good guitar made for less than 200 €, provided we make some concessions (on wood, including ...)

The final result is far beyond my expectations: I wanted a small guitar that is not afraid to be trimbalée everywhere with comfort worthy set of fender mex, a powerful sound distortion / crunch, all within a budget very tight (less than 200 €).

I love its light weight.
I have a Fender Start ssay limited edition 250 copies dasn but not my ability, an ibanez, gibson, and a Squier Start.

yes I think with the little way I and many young people is to have a better dificille guitar.

I must say that the finish is really bleuffante for that price ... The materials used are good, the frets and the neck fitting.

UTILIZATION

The highlight of this guitar is its playability!

The neck is super nice. All settings of the guitar are very easy to perform: run, vibrato, string action, harmonic and microphones. This is very important to me because it gives a guitar perfectly suited to his game and his style of music.

In short, a real treat!

SOUNDS

I play blues / rock / pop, so it is perfect for that. In addition, it is quite versatile.

I play on a Marshall MG amp 15CDR and the result is very good. I think soon add effects to expand the possibilities.

Specific sounds are good Fender style. You do not buy this guitar for metal anyway.

The pickups are okay. On this type of guitar is the weak point (as all guitars of this price range for that matter).

OVERALL OPINION

I repeat, we must consider this guitar with respect to its price (320 € in France and € 230 elsewhere ...).
And for once, the quality / price / pleasure is excellent!
I really recommend you, it takes a lot of fun with.

But on this guitar is not for seasoned pros (not the first guitar at least!), But rather demanding for beginners, casual players or those who do not want (can) not to put € 1 200 Fender American Deluxe one worthy of the name.

For me, it's a maple strat Candy Apple Red color.

UTILIZATION

The handle of this model is quite nice, soft and fine but slightly bigger than my other strats and a varnish with a little duller. I wanted a model with maple fingerboard for a small difference compared to my other strats that have the rosewood fingerboard. Exactly, the key is successful (in my case, I do not know the others) and is even more once it was cleaned with a suitable product or fast freight.

The shape is that of a stratum with a thickness still reduced compared to the real Fender and access to treble is like any other strata.
The weight is extremely low also because since there is less wood and that it is very sparse, and it must be said, of lower quality, you end up with a guitar really lightweight (especially with changes that I made, I talk about later) and very pleasant.

The microphones being installed fairly average, the sound is too shrill and strident, yet relatively quiet compared to others in these prices, but people being used as humbuckers or swearing by them pass their way. This guitar is not made for large saturations, obviously. But it can be pretty good according to what does or seeks, or for a beginner (as the original!).

I want to make a point of honor for the painting, I find, is very well done for a guitar of this price range! (Not the Candy Apple Red with gold glitter, no ... They are red. Lol)

SOUNDS

About the wood used, I must say I was a little scared the famous "Agathis" which I have seen evil. Well, I was surprised! It looks like (more or less!) To alder but with slightly less accurate and much drier, very medium. With maple fingerboard, this guitar gives a very surly, but dries clear sound ideal for a little "vintage" and saturations.
For cons, I found that it reduced a little harmonics.

Just bought it, I took her to my luthier usual modifications. The most important point, I changed my microphone. Because I thought it was the biggest weakness of this guitar and I really wanted a model of precise micro suited to my game I also block the tremolo which I've been using forever. I found it quite good but as usual, it's too out of tune guitar, you lose the sustain, harmonics etc. ...
It was also resolved, as all guitars are not resolved before buying, especially entry-level models like this. I also changed the plate and with the microphone, there is now a single volume knob.
Result, a model approaching a lot of Fender signature model I really like and that suits me better in all aspects.
The guitar has a high output level, sound still as sharp, dry and supports much better overdrive.
It should now really my style of music and my tastes.
She still has that small overflow in mediums that do not bother me but chose well his or her microphone, you can really do something good.

OVERALL OPINION

My rating reflects the changes I made to my guitar.

I used when testing for several months as a secondary or tertiary guitar (lol) and I am very satisfied.
I wanted to customize a strat me bringing up a Tom DeLonge signature but with the maple fingerboard and not too ruin me, it's done.
Squier's are very good copies of Fender guitars and are best for beginners but are also an excellent base for those wanting to build a model without breaking the bank. This model is really small but its absence is the pickups, I think. Nothing too serious ...
The quality / price is very good. I recommend it without worry.
With experience, I would do without this choice problem. With more money, however, I would have taken a Mexican fat start approaching more of what I wanted to do.
