USE

The config is very simple, very vintage in approach, because the compression curves are prconfigures, it remains only to choose the one you want ....

I have not read the manual, this is the stuff that "feels", I mix with all weekend and I wonder if I'll really take the time to read the user manual <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

I mainly put the bass on it, taking then to mix with rglage diffrent each time.
It's true we hear a clear improvement when going through something. I think other resume thereafter, because it does not cost too much to chance.

SOUND QUALITY

The compression effect is very good "calibrated" I'll try to pass bass drums and snare to see what happens but I'm pretty confident in the result <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

The two bass players who were able to use the studio were both delighted, one playing the rock "vintage" and the other from Hard, and each with a diffrent rglage have been possible their own sound ...

After having played well in the mix with my compressors, it seems that this one gives a nice color on the bottom when it comes strong in it. The resulting sound is pretty good detaches from the Bass Drum (which it even happens in a 1176 bus via the table), and that's exactly what I was looking ... on the other hand, seeking a color Particular re for my compressors, I do not think taking another dbx160 for guitars or keyboards, but possibly for toms, why not <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for little, but Fawn systematic dsormais. Moreover it has no on / off switch, thus prompting the use ds that the whole system is powered <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

One of my friends told me that the faade ings people "known" (Veronicas among others) used it on each slice of the table, but also on each output from their table !!!! To dcrire the somewhat "universal swiss army knife" of the craft ...

I possde or I possd few compressors: Joemeek VC1qc, TLAudio Fatman 1 & 2, Universal Audio 1176 Summit TLA100 ...

This one, and a great price, is the Swiss Army knife, systematically used any session, ALWAYS !! And this is not the case for autrezs "big" references ...

What I like least: the small little less is no On / Off button, but as it would still be "On" .... <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

Monstrous price quality ratio occasion (between 200 and 300 Euros ...), do NOT hsiter take one or even more !!

I would like to buy many more !!

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use for a compressor, the attack and release settings are factory pre-set which not modifiable.

on the other hand, it must attack with a transformed impedance (600 ohms) and not the gross impedance low (a few million ohms) to get the best part.

that means it must be used loop send / return of the amp head is used an impedance transformer (DI or preamp / DI) active.

SOUND QUALITY

compression is high quality, very musical compared to compressor pedal size (EBS, Markbass, boss, Maxon, etc.), no coloration.

There is little use of high compression without the breath of death.

The soft and hardknee modes allow light cuts or prominent for large differences in dynamic compressions.

Some magazines, you can read it tends to eat treble for what my use with electric bass, I did not feel (probably also related to the spectrum of the instrument)

OVERALL OPINION

I would recommend this product to a basic use of compression, since there are fewer parameters to manage, it is very easy to use (very live), it is also a good ally in the studio.

I use it directly in my rig low, mainly to enhance treble notes from the grave and balance it.
The connector XLR and allows use in many configurations. For my part, I do not plug in the effects loop of my amp (as it is often said to do), but immediately after my bass, the output level of the latter is sufficient to "driver" compressor and especially I find it more effective.

UTILIZATION

This unit could not be easier to use: you set the activation threshold, the compression ratio and output level. The attack and release settings are not programmable, but the presets are so effective that does cheerfully.
The manual is clear and offers many possibilities.

SOUND QUALITY

What I love about this compressor is that absolutely no one hears it: for the use I make of it is completely transparent, the sound of my bass in spring without damaging the stamp.

OVERALL OPINION

I use the machine for two years, once in my rack, it has more left. I bought after much research, and a little closed eyes, after all the advice I have read on the net. Despite its price a little high, it perfectly fulfills its role and confirms its reputation.
I think I would do this choice, despite the lack of available settings this compressor does exactly what can be expected of him.

Very very nice machine, and quite formidable efficiency, easy to use as trimmings.
