Two-channel Compressor links (one setting for both channels).
Connections: TS.
UTILIZATION
Very simple, very simple too.
No threshold setting.
SOUND QUALITY
The compression works well, it is clean and efficient.
I use it to take but never mix.
She serves only as protection against possible peaks catch bass and vocals.
Aesthetic treatment in the mix I prefer plugs (Rcomp waves) rather than the BlueMax (and converting a double).
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 5 years.
Among its biggest defaults:
- Input and Output asymmetric (not serious)
- Both channels necessarily links: no question of using a channel on the snare and one on the bass drum, for example because on one hand a single setting is possible, and also a peak on a channel leads compression on both channels.
- The threshold at-10dB stuck in manual mode.
I tried a lot of other compressors dbx 166, Drawmer DS201 (and other most prestigious of which the comparison is absurd) any better than the BlueMax.
But less than 60 € it's still a good deal.
