The SKnote RawPro series of compressor is out

The RawPro Series features the simulations of three legendary vintage compressors in compact and more affordable formats. Each module can be purchased for 250 €.

The first model, called RP6, is a FET compressor that we introduced last May in this news. Optical and VCA compressor fans can now discover the RP2A and RP165a.

The RP2A hosts multiple vintage-style optocouplers that combine an electroluminescent panel to 6 networks based on 3 LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), each with its own character and knee variation. This compressor offers gain control for the mic and line inputs, output volume, optocoupler mode switch, compressor/limiter switch, bypass switch and 48V phantom power switch. A LED gain reduction meter is also available.

The RP165a is a VCA compressor equipped with an Auto mode, a limiter, mic and line inputs with gain controls. You can adjust on this mode the attack and release times, compression ratio (6 steps from 2:1), limiter threshold, output volume and you can bypass the volume and activate the 48V phantom power. This model also include a LED gain reduction meter.

SKnote also offers a universal power supply called RP-Power, which allows for powering up to 8 models as well as the 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. It has a regular price of 100 € but if you purchase 4 compressors, this power supplied is free.

Last, those who were critical about how to install these RawPro modules in their setup will soon be able to put them in the RP-Desk, a desktop stand that can host 4 processors with a 45° angle.
