SSL will introduce on Wednesday at Musikmesse 2015 an improved version of its Listen Mic Compressor in 500 format.
The LMC+ retains from the original Listen Mic Compressor that was included in the SL 4000E console the famous fixed attack and release curves so that you can, for instance, process drum ambience mics, but SSL also added new features capable of radically transforming the incoming sound.
You’ll then find on this new 500 format module high-pass and low-pass filters, a Filters to Compressor side chain feature with a wet/dry control and two new Scoop and Split buttons are added: the first will reverse the wet signal polarity while the second enables a band-pass subtraction mode to compress only certain frequencies in the signal.
The SSL LMC+ will be available in June for the price of 499 € excl. taxes. More info at www.solidstatelogic.com.
