Published on 10/25/11 at 20:52The AKG K 121 STUDIO are very comfortable to wear and because of its style (fits around your ear) design, it blocks out a lot of the outside noise (especially when music is playing) and other people can't listen to what you are listening to.in your headphones. Then I discovered akg k 121 studio headphones, a name I had never heard of before. Ratings for all products were through the roof, so I decided to give them a try just to see how good they are. I'm blown away. Music, movies, you name it come in crystal clear and booming bass. Comfort is quite nice and they really block out any external noise. I HIGHLY recommend buying these either for yourself or a music lover.
You won't be disappointed! I love tracking the Vdrums with these as well. The kick drum impact is awesome and they don't need to be very loud to get a great sound. Some say they are tight, but I love it. They don't slip off when tracking drums even on the wildest of fills. I will be buying more! they sound great. I don't doubt there are better sounding headphones out there, but these sound fantastic and have been accurate for referencing some of my mixes (I still mainly mix from my monitors). To get anything a little bit better will cost you an arm and a leg. sometimes i like to mix at 2:30 in the morning my monitors quickly were ruled out by the landloard these headphones allow me to mix and have it sound good when i listen to it the next day on speakers and that is the ultimate test.

* How long have you been using the product?
I've used them twice.
Did you try any other models before buying this one?
Yeah, a couple, at some friends', etc.
Which feature do you like the most / the least?
What I like best is the comfort.
Everything else I don't like. The sound is awfully aggressive. I am more than disappointed. I thought that if I got AKG, which seems to be a good brand, and paid $85 bucks I would have a more or less convincing product, but that's not the case. I haven't been able to listen to them more than a couple of minutes without suffering. The high end is too extreme. Really bizarre. The sound seems super well-defined, except for the highs. I tried to use EQ and bring up the low end, but it didn't work, it's awful.... It's sickening.
How would you rate the product's value for money?
The what?
Based on your experience, would you buy this product again? ...
Oh, no! Definitely not. I was really happy when I got these cans. But the disappointment was huge. I sent them back to Thomann... And then I got a second disappointment: The shipping costs aren't refunded in case you are not satisfied with the product. I nevertheless sent them the bill and we'll see what happens. But then again it's only $16 down the toilet...
Next time I'll follow my friend Jo's advice and go to a local store to try them out before ordering them online.
In short, don't buy these cans!! Unless you are into masochism.
I give them one point because they are really comfortable.

I love them
Published on 03/20/11 at 07:44How long have you been using the product?
I've been using them for almost two years to do "home studio" recordings.
I have tested them with different amps (Luxman, Kenwood, a Line 6 interface, etc...) and I have never been disappointed.
Did you try any other models before buying it?
Yes, lots, some Sennheiser and other low-end models.
Which feature do you like the most / the least?
I think they have a well-balanced and, especially, not muffled sound. Good frequency range for headphones at this price point.
The earcups are swiveling and they adapt well to the ear for a comfortable use.
You won't have the idea of having your ears inside a sauna after two or three hours of listening!!!

They stay in place when I play guitar.
The cons: After wearing them too long (all day), my ears ache a bit.
What about the value for money?
To me they are a good value for money.
Based on your experience, would you buy this product again?
Yes, for what I use them, they work very well.
I already recommended them to a friend who got the K-141 and he is very satisfied with them, even if they demand monitor speakers for recordings...
