The Audio Technica ATH-M40FS are a set of studio headphones that are suitable for uses of all sorts, but I have used them mostly for monitoring during recording and for A-Bing mixes. Even though they are suitable for almost any kind of use, I believe they are most useful for monitoring while recording as they have a very good sound, but not good enough for mixing. They are perfect for monitoring because they provide an accurate portrayal of the sound that you are listening to. The headphones aren't the most comfortable headphones out there because they aren't all that sturdy and tend to fall off of your head if you are moving around. However, they are adjustable and will fit just about any size head because of that. The jack on the end of the cable is a 1/4 inch connection and I do not believe that it comes with a converter for 1/8 inch or otherwise. For a set of headphones, these really do provide a powerful sound and are great for checking mixing just to get a different perspective from what you are normally using. Even though they are great for checking mixes on, I would never mix on these as I tend to stay away from mixing on headphones in general because they lack the depth that studio monitors offer. The price of the Audio Technica ATH-M40FS is quite reasonable, even if they aren't the cheapest available option. The overall look of the headphones is pretty cool as it has a great design and a sleek black design that definitely looks good. They are a great sounding set of headphones and at this price they are well worth the price. If you are looking for a reasonably priced set of good sounding studio headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-M40FS are a great choice.
