New Mackie MRmk3 monitors available

Mackie has launched the third generation of their MR powered studio monitor series, which features 3 two-way speakers and a subwoofer.

The MR5mk3, MR6mk3 and MR8mk3 powered monitors all feature a polypropylene woofer, a 1" silk-dome tweeter, Class A/B amplifier, a waveguide as well as XLR, TRS and RCA inputs.

You’ll also find on each model a HF level boost and cut control (-2dB, 0dB and +2dB) and a LF level control (0dB, +2dB and +4dB).

Enclosures are made of MDF with a black vinyl finish and feature a custom-tuned rear vent port.

The MR5mk3 includes a 5.25" woofer and delivers 50W of power. Frequency response is 57Hz – 20kHz, max peak SPL per pair is 108dB SPL and the crossover frequency is 3kHz. Dimensions are 11.3" × 7.8" × 10.9" and the monitor weighs 12.1lb (5.5kg).

The MR6mk3 is a 65W powered monitor featuring a 6.5 woofer. Frequency response is 46Hz – 20kHz, max peak SPL is 111dB SPL and crossover frequency is 3.5kHz. The enclosure dimensions are 12.7" × 8.7" × 12" and weighs 15.9lb / 7.2kg.

The MR8mk3 is the biggest monitor of the range, with a 8" woofer. It provides 85W of power and has a frequency response of 38Hz – 20kHz. Max peak SPL is 113dB SPL and crossover frequency is fixed at 3kHz. Its dimensions are 15.8" × 10.9" × 13.2" and it weighs 23.8lb / 10.8kg.

Last, the MRmk3 series includes the MR10Smk3 powered subwoofer. It features a 10" glass aramid woofer and a 120W class A/B power amplifier. Mackie announces a frequency response ranging from 35Hz to 180Hz, 113dB SPL peak, and a variable crossover from 40Hz to 180Hz. The subwoofer offers XLR and TRS inputs as well as TRS outputs. The MDF enclosure with black vinyl finish is 15" × 12.6" × 15" and weighs 27.3lb / 12.4kg. It also features a rear vent port.
