Auncun fact, no editing possible, the mixer is actually a summer does not contain any fader or pan pot.
The mixdream XP allows for summing of the analog summing brings a mix of digital.
There are two connectors (1-8 and 9-16) for the 16 entries (D-Sub 25 female) and 2 audio outputs, the Master output which comes back into the sound card to a digital recording and the second that sorites Monitor connects directly to the speakers.
UTILIZATION
No configuration required to use, you plug the beast does its job.
SOUND QUALITY
I use XP Mixdream in two different ways, so my first mix benefit from a quality analog I create sub-groups so that I drive outside of Logic and then hop back into Logic to registry renewal in a single track. Second, I have some modules in RackPack SPL (the SPL modular system), I spend my synth sounds directly through the preamps, compressors, Transient Designers, ... before recording in Logic.
For me, the sound quality is exceptional given that I do not want to bring color to my mix. In summary, the Mixdream XP is an incredible transparency.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a few months now and I never had the opportunity to test other models before.
I would do without hesitation that choice because the XP does its job perfectly, its purpose is not to color but to bring clarity and depth in a mix.
+ Its simplicity
+ No specific configuration to
+ Sound (transparent)
+ Do not take place (rack 19 "1U)
+ No fader
+ Made his job to perfection
- Perhaps the price and there, I'm not sure yet
- No insert on the Master output, it is normal for that one Mixdream (X2 budget)
- No headphone jack
If I compare my previous mix that were totally "In The Box" (ITB), there's no photos, the difference means. Do not fuss at the level of reverb tails that become suddenly more beautiful and long without getting lost in all the sounds.
