Summing 16 / 1 out + 1 stereo control room outputs
fully in class A
UTILIZATION
No setting on the overall volume output + option to switch on all mono input pairs.
I did not have the manual but there is no need
SOUND QUALITY
Excellent, very transparent.
It may even be his fault: the Mixdream does not own color, it's just a summer, as transparent as possible.
I tested it on different configs: DA output with sound card and also on output bus analog console
The dynamics are impressive, do not twist.
The interest is to work with an approach "analog console" in the ass of his protools (or other) without worrying
mix of internal constraints.
The version I tested did not offer inserts (the XP version) but the normal version has keys inserts per
and a limiting circuit and a transformer output.
OVERALL OPINION
Compared to a mix "inthebox," you win a little something, the sound seems a little more natural, larger, less "veiled".
I have tested BOUNCE and MIX with the SPL (aligning many levels), then A / B Blind, there is a difference but it is not so amazing as this! The mixdream almost seems less colorful than the bounce house. In fact, it is very good D / A converters (apogee or equiv.) + Super quality of wiring to run properly this kind of system, what goes up adding at least 4000 euros for a 16-track config (version XP) or 5500 euros for the big config.
What is certain is that for that price, you can buy a secondhand DM24, a TC Powercore, SSL DUENDE 1 + 2 cards UAD1 ......
and mix with 24 outputs!! ca left thinking
