I wanted to say if you have 400 and no budget: it is not serious at all if you have not been able to take 800 or 1000 because they have become obsolete!!

I will not talk about what my dish because everything was said but does what I plutt dcu:
1) Lack of hot start
2) No rglage time startup and stopping.
3) No Wide mode in Mp3
4) No pictch

For me, this is not a luxury because I used rgulirement these functions with other decks.
Another point that I drang: Could someone tell me if the CDJ400 read cls high capacity??
Indeed, the cls 1 & 2Gb not worry, but not the 8Gb (I did not ssay 4Gb).
The two plates (I have the cls double) rowing standards and have never had the patience to see after how much time they come to read (if they read them).

I tried a few of the 400 before MODELS:
Pioneer CDJ 100S, CDJ500S, CDJ3000, CDJ800 & CDJ1000MK1, MK2 & MK3
Denon DNS1000, DN2100, DN2600, DN9000 and DNS5000 (I do not have AIM at all)
Trs not long ago, Numark Axis 9 of a friend and a reader Cortex.

The ratio quality price is excellent considering the possibilities of small bte.
I replaced the buttons provided to customize the jog with photos of my choice.

Choice because I would do except I have 4 points cit above, they match my needs.
DNS1000 + DJM600 coupled my, my rgy is modest, but my friends who continue to swear CDJ1000MK3 + DJM800, fighting for the board in evening when it is available.

I have 2 CDJ-400 coupled to a mixer Behringer DJX750, and to start his was the top. Of course, one can drive at first, but in three weeks a pleasure to use almost every day.

No Cue? no problem you mix using a mixing software, you can remap all the buttons on the decks!

It has 6 effects super divided to two functions. Vynil function that allows you to scratch effect by adding a "bubble / Trans / Wah
NON Vynil and function that can be given effect with the Brake 'ROLL, JET (flanger) / Wah (audio output only LEFT or RIGHT one). The HOLD button allows you to maintain the effects, if desired.

Platinum superb for its price and for beginners wishing to mix Ryhmes on fast enough!

I'm using his turntables for 1 year and are really great. Manufacturing quality made in Pioneer! Thanks to my job I get to test much of the turntables on the market. Pioneer is the leader in digital CD decks and cdj 400 is obviously part of good products.
The only problem that I found is the time it starts to load an external 250GB hard drive, but once supported then it's happiness!
I chose the 400 for the USB mode (the first from Pioneer) and I thought it was a good compromise. (They are made to train with me)
If not other effects, loop and beatloop works very well and the effect is nice roll!
Pioneer in the price is a bit unfair I think it's expensive for what it is, but hey it will not work in not sure what kool! (Lol)
And since the release of cdj 2000, pioneer decks have taken another leap forward!

What thing do you like most/least about it?
+ for:
- They are very beautiful
- Solid and responsive (except USB mode c is a little slower but nothing serious)
- Accuracy of the plates (bpm, jog and pitch) is excellent!
- Self loop is very handy

For:
- No hot cue (at this price that is bad)
- The price ... I've had them at 550 euros each which is very correct but given the increase (almost 700 euro) I find it a bit too expensive.
Ultimately the cdj 400 are very good turntables robust, responsive and accurate! They are however still relatively simple and quite expensive.

I advice to any dj who plan to chain a lot of small to see larger parties!

What is your opinion about the value for the price?

A bit expensive, being given that the same features are available at half the price in other brands. But you soon forget the price when its two jewels in the hands (so to speak).
Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice?

Without hesitation! Would recommend to any beginner or even pro DJ who chain the evenings and want to touch the true mix CD.

I appreciate the accuracy of the jog, the quality loop and Sampler slot electro mix cd is very enjoyable to hear, the design is beautiful, especially as I bought a limited edition pack in blue.

it is certainly a little early to judge but for now I'd do it again without hesitating, Pioneer is the leading brand in the market and the DJ we know why

Very happy with my CDJ-400K (With DJM-400K) for almost a year.

+ A flawless CD playback, good management of mp3 files. I still fumble with the different keys, I opted for 2 small 4GB HP. In my opinion it should not exceed 4GB in otherwise it will just start and it is better to have a little device does not hang in the open set. For a manual listing up to 10000 files run on the same medium, it's still very theoretical)

+ Navigation is simple but the display ...
- Hard drive in 2010 a screen that displays only 10 characters for file names. Personally I took a lot of time to store said key (now I really enjoy the mp3)

+ The pitch is very accurate (* The visual tool is really a time saver. This does not prevent me to sort everything out by ear so I do not understand some reactions)

+ The jogs are reliable, what surprised me the test. I had a fear of side "plastic" for a little sister Pioneer.
- The 3 small effects are nice without being exceptional. A little gadget that's true. We can not exclude that it can enrich your set if used sparingly.

+ Loops, precise with auto / divide nice ...
- Frankly, my problem is that it runs only 4 times! I regret that there have not hot cues ... So I am a mixed opinion on this function. It's good, but it works ...

Aesthetics +, I confess to having succumbed to the Blue edition package foo. I find it really fucking well. Now it is true that there is a small side "tuning" which is more noticeable on the base edition. My faith is a matter of taste ...

To summarize, the CDJ 400 are versatile, with a precision and quality worthy of a response. In my opinion, "amateur" is a total foot to use.

* To solve the small problems I had, I recently spent in MIDI setup with Traktor Scratch Pro, and there is just enormous. But in my opinion comparable to use by "hardware"

I advise (well. .. The 350 now that I briefly tried best jog, use the famous rekordbox ... barf) for beginners who have the means to afford them. It is true that Pioneer a fairly aggressive policy of selling ... But I think they can afford. With my limited budget but still result in Pioneer.
