Hey,

First of all, let me tell you my story.

About 6 months ago I recorded a song with my mate using Cubase SE and his Steinberg MI2 audio interface as well as a Behringer 8 channel mixer. We recorded drums, guitar, vocals and bass. We recorded guitar using a Shure mic thru my Line 6 amp, we recorded the drums with the Shure mic and about 6 or 7 other mics worth $10.00 or less. The outcome was pretty damn good for the quality of the mics. You can hear the song here: www.myspace.com/aeliusaus (let me know what you think... that's if you check it out, and I recommend you do :D) .. anyway, we want to re-record the song with some new equipment and it's gonna be awesome.
