Hi everyone, I'm glad I stumbled onto this forum, it looks very interesting and informative. I'm relatively new to the home studio thing, I've been using my Pc for recording for about 6 months now. I'm currently recording my band's first full length album, and hopefully I'm going to get some help and guidance from the members here. You can check out my band Ethergy here if you would like: www.ethergyonline.com. The demo's posted were recorded using guitar tracks pro on a windows 98 machine with terrible outboard equiptment. I have revamped my setup to include: A Sony Vaio P4 laptop @2.8ghz with 768megs of ram, a Motu 828mkII outboard interface, Alesis mk1 monitors with matching power amp and assorted mics. I am running Sonar 3 Producer Edition with Sound Forge 6 for mastering and tweaking. For guitar, I have a digitech GNX3 processor and a peavey wolfgang guitar, along with several Ibanez six and seven string guitars. My live guitar rig includes a tubeworks mosvalve power amp and a custom 212 cab I built. Well enough about me, it's nice to be here! I hope I have something to offer to help all of you in return for the tips and tricks I know I will find here.
Peace.
