I bought this guitar in a music store called "Total Music", in Lethbridge Alberta. I bought the guitar for $247.00. The only way I can really tell you how I bought is with cash.:) I was looking for truck parts at a swap meet and happened to visit a mall with this music store in it. I started playing a Stratacaster, basically because I needed a new guitar, then I caught a Glimpse of the Telecaster behind the counter. I've wanted a Telecaster ever since I was Ten years old and saw someone playing it. I thought it produced a great blues sound.

I like the Telecasters box shaped design, and the fact that the "Fender" name is a proud product of musical instruments. It has a low tension head which makes it easier to bend the strings for a nicer sounding solo. It also has a nice thick paint job. I liked the fact the most of it is chrome, and is a better guitar then what I have owned in the past.

Even though I have wanted a Telecaster for so long and really do like having one I have discovered a few problems in the way it was built. I don't like the fact that the screws are placed slanted, the pickup guard is lifting up in some places, and the bridge and the chrome knob part is too far away from the pick guard. The guitar has fret bars that extends too far out and scratches me while moving up the neck.

I think the construction of my unit is very poor. I do,however, enjoy the quality of it. The Telecaster has a bright, crisp, clean sound. It has a slanted pickup on the bridge which produces a "hermonic" sound. I prefer its maple wooden neck over most. I like the length and width of the neck, as well. "Fender" products have also been known to hold up under excessive abuse.

I think that the Telecaster is a great buy. Although the "Fender" rights were sold to "Squire" Who produce a less quality sounding product as well as producing a poor manufactured product, they have made it more affordable for people like me who have been interested in the "Fender" product since it came out.
