Pedal super light and cheap, the connections are on the top of the housing, not too practical in its own configuration, conventional power supply or battery.
    Bitonios very fragile.

    UTILIZATION

The only of its kind that I've tested, small effect, super delicate pedal (even the switch to use a slipper!) And its really does not convince me.
Everyone can find his account, given the previous reviews but I personally do not use it and I would avoid losing the 40th in a pedal.

    hit or miss

Danelectro DJ-5 Tuna Melt TremoloPublished on 12/11/11 at 22:34
This is a very affordable vibrato pedal that I recently tried for a few days. It has analog technology and only has the simple 1/4" input and output. There are no MIDI or Computer editing capabilities. It's a foot pedal and is therefore not rackable.

    UTILIZATION

The editing of this effect is quite easy. Danelectro pedals really have the back-to-basics approach nailed. There three knobs. The first is mix, which is basically the mix between dry signal and wet (wet meaning with the vibrato effect). The other two knobs are for speed and intensity. The manual isn't really necessary at all but it will explain these things well.

The manual isn't really necessary at all but it will explain these things well.

    SOUND QUALITY

I don't know if I'm simply dissatisfied with this pedal, or if I'm just expecting too much out of it. I was expecting something along the lines of a Univibe, which is a classic sound. I feel as though they tried to emulate that tone and almost succeeded, but not quite. The main beef I have with the pedal is that it sounds thin. When I up the mix knob, I notice that my intonation is too far out for my liking, and that I lose the signal in muddiness. I think that for once, this pedal's effect is too light for me. It does actually color the sound a bit too much for my liking as well. I think that in general, I'd be better off with the real deal (a Univibe) or another, better replication of that sound. This is mainly because I have played some that aren't nearly as limiting.

    OVERALL OPINION

I would say that I'm not too happy with this pedal in general. I think that Danelectro is sort of hit or miss, which is to be expected of a company that charges so little for their pedals. While an interesting idea, this pedal simply falls short of the kind of sound I want. However, I won't say that nobody would like this pedal, I'm sure some people would find much to like here. It just didn't work for me personally.

    An effect available: the tremolo.

Connector jack (in / out) + 9V battery or transformer type boss.

Controls: Rotary 2 (speed and depth), and a waveform selector (smooth / hard).

In short, not the characteristics of insanity in terms of quantity. Neither too much nor too little. Anyway this is the kind of pedal ultra-simple, we buy because it does not take place, does his job and more ... is the least expensive of which is done.

Small detail: the pedal comes with a removable cap, tranparent plastic, which protects the knobs. I leave it permanently.

Small detail: the pedal comes with a removable cap, tranparent plastic, which protects the knobs. I leave it permanently.

    UTILIZATION

His biggest asset is his practical size, especially when you start to have a lot of pedals, and you must carry around a whole with each repetition.

Use can not be simpler, if only because it has only two buttons to turn to adjust the sound (+ selector waveform).

The issue is not so easy because of the size of the pedal and dials: it is very small, so go with tweezers. In my case it's not a problem because I found a setting that I like and since I do not touch anything except the on / off. For those who want to change settings on each piece that can be + binding.

My biggest negative on the switch on / off, too prominent and a little cheap: sometimes I support but the effect does not engage. The ideal would be for me the same pedal (size, number of knobs, sound) with a switch on / off Inrate (style ones on the pedals vox, rat, voodoolab ...). Perhaps I'll install one.

    SOUND QUALITY

Effective, responsive, realistic? yes, yes, yes.

I was previously a Nobel, who had a bit disappointed (I could not find a convincing setting, and the sound was too colorful).

This is exactly what I was looking for. The tremolo is warm and does not alter the sound (the two together is a feat). Great.

    OVERALL OPINION

I love the tremolo effect. I noticed the pedals that are worth 4 or 5 times more expensive (dunlop, voodoolab), it's hesitation. I tried the boss tr-2 in store, without being convinced. I bought the Nobels, used deception too.

In fact I was intrigued by the Danelectro long (small, cheap) and I realized that Dominique A fairly picky about sound, used for 1 year, whereas before he had the Dunlop TS- 1. So for the original price (49 euros in Paris, 29 euros + 10 port on thomann) I thought it was well worth the coup attempt. And I'm not disappointed.

Really excellent sound quality, small, practical ... its weak point: the switch on / off. As for life, we'll see.

Tremolo effect, with a switch used to select the waveform of the tremolo (hard or soft), lavitesse and depth of the wave are adjustable.
The case is plastic, so it must be handled gently with your foot.

However once we have the right speed, it remains to choose the form of the wave (hard or soft) and depth (depth adjustment means that only soft mode), and we interressants sounds very quickly.

    SOUND QUALITY

I think it's the highlight of the tremolo, the Hard mode gives an effect that sounds superbly hach ds at that speed is calle.
The method gives a soft cot retro also very interresting.
In short it sounds great with all guitars and amps all.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use the pedals recently, and I am fully satisfied. Apart from the speed control, and finish that would have AIM stronger, the Tuna Melt is a gnial tremolo that sounds extremely good.
It is also one (if not THE) of the cheapest on the market then report qualitprix very very good.

The PDAL is the rve for someone looking to give a color supplmentaire of quality sounds.

The case is strong enough, as far as not jumping both feet on it ... but we are not brutes, is not it?
Besides, if you buy from OCCAZ, vrifier well have the capo tranparent plastic, which allows the potentiomtres being protected your little feet

    SOUND QUALITY

So the least I agree on the previous ones opinion, let me explain:
my config is: American Series Stratocaster, Peavey Classic 30 that the trs simple.
I put in the beginners between the tremolo guitar and the amp, then into the effects loop.
Your exact is the same (qd less marked place in the loop), it loses a lot of momentum, exactly what we are looking for an amp with tubes!
I do not know if this is the effect of him even, but in any case it trsgnant. That's why I do not use it. That said, I have not had the opportunity to test other.

on the other hand in bypass mode, the effect is trs discrt, loss of momentum is almost inaudible (or it may be that I am a bit paranoid with the dynamics: -?)

ps: I write this before Verify that the battery silent still good, lol

    OVERALL OPINION

1 year I have, but I do not use it much.

The ratio quality / price is good qd mm trs.
The trick is that you start to have the ds stuff a little better, we need all the string that goes with it ... For example I tried on a peavey amp transistors and impeccable, no loss of dyn., nickel.

For cons, I suspect that quite a few pedals food batteries, watch out well unplug qd you finish playing with! : P

Finally, if I really common use of a tremolo, I would take another. But for the time I use it, good enough for me ca.

A plastic cover can be possible on the pots so as not to risk touching the settings by switching effect at the base: good ide.

    SOUND QUALITY

It's about the quality of sound that EHJV pedals.
Place upstream of the preamp, the pedals is quite transparent and it works niquel. PERFECT.

on the other hand, place in the effects loop of my amp, the pedals rvle was unusable. According to the amp, the pedals or eat the dynamics of the signal, or did the volume drop dramatically ... short, unusable. Which is a shame for a lot of tremolo scratch space in the loop.

    UTILIZATION

Like I said earlier, fairly simple to use given the limited number of knob, after which the knobs are sensitive enough, take a little time to refine its many settings, but once this is done, it's top.

on the other hand, no fan of the mini switch to engage the effect, not very sensitive / reactive, and since it is minus, a doubt still remains about the engagement / disengagement of the effect, in short, it involves get it right, not necessarily practical in the heat of the moment

more convenient, the small plastic cover to protect the knobs of any possible misalignment in the engagement, given the size of the pedal, I'd say it's even necessary, especially when a major turning out

about food and the problem of loss of volume raised by others, I found this: no problems with signal loss with a power supply of sufficient intensity, for against, one day I reversed my two power supplies (for different intensities do not feed the same number of pedals) in my pedalboard, and, indeed through, there were loss of the activation volume but because the power supply was not strong enough to as power pedals, including the tuna melt at the end of string placed upstream of the preamp (I use a power supply for the effects in the loop, and another for those upstream of the preamp, delivering more intensity, because more power effects).

Finally, if you have any volume loss with this pedal, it's not she who is involved, but a faulty or inadequate power supply (battery or transformer HS not issuing enough intensity, especially in a pedalboard)

    SOUND QUALITY

Indeed effective and very good sound quality, especially given the price: on one hand, it is better to make concessions on the "form", the envelope of the pedal instead of the sound is excellent, with tremolos to the most discrete of the chopped depending on the speed and sharp, with a beautiful vintage color.

obviously, this is not a pedal to place anywhere, forget the effects loop, anyway, a tremolo that begins upstream of the preamp in the end chain of preference.

short, I love and I tend to put more in my compositions, and used in the right place in my chain of pedals, it gives me any satisfaction!

    OVERALL OPINION

Used for about a year, I had bought more out of curiosity for the effect itself that I knew not well, than anything else. and about 40 euros, I was not disappointed, the investment was well worth the effort, especially since I use more and more that this is now part of my pedalboard and I should have difficult to remove.

short, given the price, to buy the closed eyes for all those wishing to explore these effects. attention, proven risk of addiction!

after, we can surely find better level reliability, durability, design, and even his, but not at that price ....

No need to spend more, it is nickel.

    OVERALL OPINION

A must for this price, I return tjrs not.

Danelectro DJ-5 Tuna Melt TremoloPublished on 12/06/10 at 07:08
(This content has been automatically translated from French)
    Analog tremolo pedal.

    UTILIZATION

Very simple and classic: a knob control, a knob of intensity, and a square wave switch / rounded.
What is expected of a tremolo, what ...
The pedal has a great look, so Cadillac 50s, but is small and plastic. So do not jump on it and make an effort to lock accuracy (with boots, it takes a little practice ...)

    SOUND QUALITY

Initially, I wanted a cheap tremolo, use only sporadically, to get wasted on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino ... Style Bang Bang Nancy Sinatra, Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon, delusions and other more or less surfing.
So I did not want to make money.
I ordered it without trying it, completely blind.
    Good pick …

    Good pick ...
And finally, I feel I have had more than my money ...
I love that sound. Its super warm, velvety and deliciously vintage ...
So much so that I end up making a much more extensive than originally planned!
I regularly use a boost (Electro Harmonix LPB-1) upstream, which has the effect of strengthening the dynamics and make the very légèremet cruncher Tuna Melt. The resulting sound is absolutely delicious!
In short, she eventually became one of my main pedal.

Just a slight problem: it's not true bypass, and it is not totally transparent when not in use. The parade is simple: I use a secondary loop (with a few other pedals), commanded by an A / B box. That way, no problem! This "secondary loop" is incidentally between my guitar and my amp, not in the effects loop (I do not like the effects loop, I'd rather do it the old).

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 year.
I'm a fan of its grain, its delicious warmth of its quaint charm that sends me back 50 years ...
The only flaw that I would be the lack of transparency of the buffer, but nothing too serious, especially since the problem is easily circumvented.
The quality / price is excellent, and it's a choice I would do without hesitation! Muy caliente

Like most tremolo effect pedals out there, it's got parameters for depth and speed, but this one also has a hard/soft parameter for further adjusting the tone. It's easy enough to use that a manual shouldn't be needed.

    SOUND QUALITY

The tone of the Danelectro Tuna Melt is actually quite good. You wouldn't know it considering the price, but it's a pretty realistic sounding pedal that can get a good amount of differing tones in one place. It's definitely best for getting that vintage, old tube amp sort of tremolo, especially if you're using it with a real tube amp. I don't own this pedal since I have a '76 Fender Twin Reverb that has this effect built in, and while I wouldn't say that the Tuna Melt is as good as the tremolo on this amp, it's still good in it's on right.

    OVERALL OPINION

The Danelectro Tuna Melt is definitely the cheapest way to get a good sounding tremolo pedal. I'm not a huge fan of most of these cheap Danelectro pedals in general, but this one I do like a great deal. It's definitely comparable to something like the Boss TR-2 tremolo which will cost almost double the price. Unless you're going to go crazy and get a really in depth tremolo, it's definitely worth it to save a few bucks with the Danelectro Tune Melt...
