The Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo is a high end pedal that can be used for any electric instrument, although my experience with the pedal is just with electric guitar. Having said this, I'm sure it would also sound awesome on keys. The pedal is standard in it's make up, consisting of 1/4" jacks for input and output and requiring power from an external power supply. The pedal does have true bypass although it's not rackable as it's a foot pedal.

UTILIZATION

The make up of the Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo couldn't be much simpler. There's nothing too unique about it's configuration, giving you parameters for speed, depth, and level. These are pretty ubiquitous parameters for tremolo pedals, so if you have experience with one of them, chances are you're going to be familiar with this one without having even used it. No need for a manual here.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo definitely puts it in the top tier of tremolo pedals that I've used before. It's got one of the cleanest trem sounds I've ever heard and is versatile to boot. I've used the pedal in the studio only, using it with a Fender Telecaster and Orange amplifier. It's great for using when you're not using a Fender amplifier (which already has tremolo on board). It's pretty flexible as far as tremolos can go, but the overall clean sound quality of this pretty traditional sounding tremolo is where it makes it's dough.

OVERALL OPINION

The only problem I have with the Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo is the price! It's a seriously awesome pedal that sounds incredible but it's not worth the price in my opinion. It really does cost a good amount, but that's what you're going to find with Mad Professor pedals. For a professional who can swing it it might be worth it, but unless you're using tremolo 24/7, it's really not necessary to spend this amount of money on a tremolo pedal. There's nothing at all with the sound of it, as it's one of the best I've ever heard, I just wish it was a bit cheaper so I could get one!
