OVERALL OPINION

The downside to this apareil is its excessive weight: 35 pounds!

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a nearly 2 years. I have tried many models before you buy (Ashdown FA40, engl screamer 50, mashall dsl602, randall rg50tc, ampeg reverbrocket, Laney TT50, etc..).

In fact my favorite amp is Laney TT50, but at 1400 €, I could not get the offer.

The crate was therefore an economically realistic (330 €, so yes, you read correctly! OCCAZ of course but hey, that's all lamps!).

It helps to have an original sound, this is not an amp that can cross at street corners all els ....

I would do without hesitation that choice, especially given the ridiculous price for an amp product in the U.S. ....

As I said before, this configuration is very simple and super effective.

The sound is coming right away, but beware, these 50 watts is not the gnognotte! So should go easy, sutout there is no master (it's simple, repeating, I never exceeded 1.5 by volume). For the effects loop, and I use no effects bin, except for a wah-wah, so that way it's done.

SOUNDS

My style of music: I play a bit of everything, but mostly jazz-rock, rock and hard rock.
The amp perfectly follows these styles.
The clean sound is beautiful, it almost does not crunch, in short, we have a real clear sound, both jazzy, crystalline, warm and silky.
In saturation, we can have everything, pretty much crunch reactive attack distos up to modern rock. Attention, it is not recommended for metal, it has not enough bass and low mids for that.
Moreover, the second channel, when more than 6 in gain, we have a really sharp fuzz and not very pleasant if we do not drop the treble on the amp (I always keep 3). So be careful there!
With my ibanez rg 3120, seymour duncan sh2 rise and SH5, the soli saturation are sublime: very good attack, grain a bit messy at the marshall, sustain large, the total, actually.
There, that's good for me: 10/10, Bravo Crate.

This makes now a year since I use it. I bought 500 euros secondhand, and I have no regrets, even after having tested the amp as 15-25 express mesa boogie or marshall of modern vintage. Only regret: it is a bit heavy ...
