«  A very good amp ... »

Published on 01/15/11 at 06:30
Guitar amplifier 40 watts All Tube, surprisingly powerful (!)
2 inputs Line in (low and high)
1 input power amp in, pre-amp 1 output out
1 entry footswitch (supplied)
The settings are those usually found on amps (low, mid, treble, presence, reverb ...)
3 channels clean, drive and more drive
Celestion G12P80
Cover ...

UTILIZATION

Super easy to use amp, the preamp is effective and we quickly see what you want.
The amp is however quite low and loaded into the drive / more drive is too loud for my taste. limit light style fuzz sometimes .. Also too mushy and imprecise. There is no doubt impeccable playing all that is old rock, blues (for which the receiver is intended) but I found it inappropriate that I play (as I expected), I do the therefore not used.
The clear sound, it is Dante! Beautiful, clear, full of harmonics. This is THE sound lights, I love it!

However, it is a bit difficult to play at low volumes. The knob is extremely sensitive, just to be touched after he said "it's too low, I can get up a little." and presto, it is much too strong!
But it can be manageable, with neighbors indulgent ...
Seriously, it's a bit annoying but you get done and we can get to manage it, but I must admit that the amp has nothing to do once pushed and lamps used a minimum!
I am aware that it is surprisingly powerful for a 40w! He picks up the wallpaper, seriously! I never dared to climb to over 3 ½, 4 ... I do not quite understand why it has a knob up to 12! This day, however outdoor uncluttered, volume to about 4, it was unbearable! But the sound was ... Extraordinary!

SOUNDS

This amp has a beautiful sound, especially the clean sound is fabulous.
But being mostly intended for the blues, the drive channel can offend.
The amp is not "in theory" not the style I played but using an external pedal, in this case a Tech21 california, and changing lamps preamp I managed to find him in my gem and get the sound I wanted.
While this may seem surprising (or not) with a Fender Stratocaster Tom Delonge signature, I get beautiful clean tones and distorted sounds accurate, clean, packed with harmonic ...

** I put a 9 for my amp once amended and clear sound, otherwise I would have put a 7 for the drive channel

OVERALL OPINION

.** I use less than one year Again, my house (in the apartment, if so!) and also on stage. I fell in love.
I tried a little store before buying it, and even after that I was not sure that I would finally love me and that he would match. But now, with hindsight mofifications made and I am really happy with the sound that I have and it's a great tube amp, affordable and highly appreciated. Not for nothing ...
As with any amp, you must feel and especially take time to really enjoy it.
