Best value: Excellent
All lamps, 50w 2 channels. Connectivity standard, very coomplète. Very light for an all-tube, which can be worrying in terms of sound projection (even if we speak of "open back").

UTILIZATION

Very light, easily transportable and very durable (some concerts with this machine).

SOUNDS

Clear sound very neutral. I personally prefer to go from bright. Boosted channel seemed blah from the start. There are still potential in this amp. The whole debate is to identify the weak point: preamp, power amp or hp? I heard a lot about the power amp section as the weak point. I think that in terms of projection and dynamic, the real weak point is instead the hp. Also note that the preamp has 3 lamps. Compare with any other all-tube ... Is obtained at all major saturax (and I emphasize "big") with only three lamps preamp with other amps. Control of texture is a real fun (no big changes). The sound lamp is more about the clean sound for my taste. For saturax, 100w head seemed better.
However, I love this machine because it works a hell of a blackstar ToneLab or, for example.

OVERALL OPINION

For a small price, you get a tube amp, which offers a wide dynamic transistor (same price), and will be less capricious with a pedal or preamp distortion, high volume (compared to a classic 30). I will try maybe one day an upgrade (hp and EL34 instead of 6L6). Now, no need to compare it to a mesa that is 3-6 times its price. If we play like this: nothing beats my 2210 Marshall JCM800 stack, not even a boogie! But now, I can not always pick the stack, and I never found the equivalent combo.

I've had or tried tons of tube amps: 100 212 Rivera, brunetti star-t-rack, while of course marshall, peavey classic 30 and Delta blues, engl thunder 50 and powerball screamer classic, Mesa Dual Rectifier and f50 , fender ... Good stop. They are typed, can do some things and other assets less assets. In the light blues amp, peavey classic series already, so the ValveKing is vested in something more modern.
The problem with peavey, amp it's his image "-run" etpremier price. I recall that illustrious guitarists are or have been their sound with these amps economic: Rondat, Van Halen, Jerry Donahue (Hellecasters, what a sound!) Satriani, Steve Morse ... With a little skill and elbow grease for DIYers, we can do things very well with that brand.

Personally, I too ruined by stuff, so I know from experience that it is not necessarily putting a high price you get satisfaction. Let us not forget that the interest of the lamps, in addition to the grain (which I admit is quite absent here), is also and especially for me, the dynamic stage presence. So for me, an all-tube combo, light, less than 500 euro is a bargain, and I probably would do that choice (never two without three).
You can throw an ear on the sound of the machine with an input connected ToneLab instrument Jump (Audio. .. solo and rhythm) and Stratus (Video) on my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/ letaz59 ( http://www.myspace.com/letaz59 )
