50 watt amp 2 channel all-tube ...
2 pedal switches (bright / saturated and boost / no boost).
Effects loop constantly active.
8ohm mono.

I put 7 because I am frankly disappointed that you can not disable or enable the effects loop through the bottom bracket ...
I also find that the length of the cable bracket is really poor especially on big stages ...

UTILIZATION

Easier to use is not!
You turn the knobs and it sounds ....
Manuel really not helpful ... Do not just turn her head if she is not related to HP.

SOUNDS

Very good sound throughout ... provided they are connected to the HP Mesa / Boogie or ENGL ... otherwise it's dirty, not precise ...
The clean sound is nice but no more. (It is not Fender)
The crunch sound is very good (it is well worth a big fat Marshall)
The sound is very good vintage Lead
Lead Modern sound is excellent.

In all cases there is a huge dynamic range and the spectrum is very wide ...

Big disappointment all the same when I use the effects loop (mix to 100%): loss of precision, dynamics, and cleanliness and this dramatically ... for this reason I put 7

I play mostly metal, but also blues and rock.
I played on Gibson SG and 7 Strings ...

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this head in 2000 and I've never found better in terms of its versatility and (I've tried everything: Fender, Orange, Marshall, Engl, Rivera, Soldano, etc.) must also say ... aesthetic level that is no better: she is really beautiful is thrown on stage ... a show in itself <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" />

I am tempted by Diezel VH-4, but frankly it's ugly.
So I think I would go on because it offers Dual Rectifier activation through the effects loop pedals ...

What I like most about this head:
Its look, its power, small footprint (less 2fois a big HK, Marshall, etc.), Modern Sound Lead, robustness, and its manufacturing quality copy, reliability (never failed in 10 years).

I think this head is a pure success, you really feel it was designed, engineered and assembled by rockers to rockers ... really a beautiful thing ...

The Mustang Amps, and like any good American it is well worth its price.
